I have the 256GB version of this drive and it was originally SLOW, constantly stopping for many minutes long delays in the middle of any transfers of any decent size. Out of frustration and boredom one day I opened the housing on the drive and, while I didn't notice anything unusual, after reassembly the drive performs MUCH better. I have no idea what changed but I no longer regret my purchase.
