So the full funding needs to happen at the time of opening the account as a single transfer? Or can it happen in 2 transfers from 2 external accounts? I only read it as the funding period is 15 days from account opening. Doesn't give out any more details. I got about 25 in one and 25 in another. Sure I can first combine them together and then use that. but i am just curious if it needs to be a single funding transfer or can be more than one?

Looks like they increased the APY to 3%. Ally is still at 2.35% although they have been hiking it pretty frequently (although in modest increments) and I would expect that to continue.

This seems like kind of a no brainer for someone with a spare $100,000 sitting in an Ally Savings account with no immediate plans to use, right? Want to make sure I'm not missing something here.

Sure why not? As long as you have different socials as the bonus will be reported on a 1099

Don't qualify since I have their crappy 360 saving account. I guess I need to close it since there is nothing in it anyways. Read fine price to make sure you qualify.

It's not just you, it's everyone. The interest rate, which is now 3.0%, (as of 10/28) is applied to the balance and that amount is annual... so for only 90 days duration, you'll only get 25% of that interest rate. However, if you've deposited at least $100K by the 15th day after opening the account, they'll give you a one-time bonus payment of $1000, but no more after that. So don't conflate bonus and interest... two different things.

I have a saving account with cap one so i'm obviously not eligible. It is not a joint account. So can my wife open an account and get the money transferred from my account? OR does the accounts she transfers from/to can only be under her name.

From what I read it sounds like it has to come from a different bank. You would probably need to withdraw the money to another bank then put it back in under her name.
