My OPINION, you should spend the $20.99 extra ($99.99) to get the Apple TV (2021) 41K 32 GB or wait for better deals on that instead. The reason isn't simply 4K, it is the expected software support lifespan between the two devices.
- 1080p only
- No HDR Support
- HDMI 1.4 only
- WiFi 5 instead of WiFi 6
- A8 SoC (Vs. A12 on the 2021 4K), or 2x core instead of 4x core. 1.5 GHz Vs. 2.49 GHz.
- Bluetooth 4 (instead of 5)
- 2 GB (instead of 3 GB) of RAM
It is almost a certainty that a device sold in 2022 with an A8 chip and 2 GB of RAM will be cut off from TvOS updates sooner than one with an A12/3 GB of RAM. Even if it won't happen for a couple of years. I just don't think it is a good tech investment. At $50 or less I MIGHT recommend this, but the clearance deals on the 2021 4K are only getting hotter.
