Avoid this phone like a plague. While the phone is great while it works and so is the camera, I constantly have issues with dropped calls and incoming calls going straight to voice mail … I didn't believe the reviews about bad reception and still bought it and now I am outside of the return window

The description clearly says "Unlocked". What reviews are you referring to?

This is actually true for most new phones these days, In past 3 yrs I've been thru a Samsung A series phone, and 2 Motorola phones, all 3 had serious reception issues. These companies are not putting out reliable products like they use to in past years. But they still claim technology is improving and Jack up the rates. So far my experience with 5g has been terrible, it's a step back from 4g.

6a owner here using PureTalk. Unlocked version from Amazon, worked iffy out of the box particularly with the modem, but the recent updates to software fixed all that. Very happy with it, came from a 3a, 4a and an iPhone

I have Mint. It's great when it works and absolutely frustrating when it doesn't. Had AT&T for probably 15 years before switching. A couple times a year with Mint there are periods where I'll miss calls and I'll neither get a missed call notification or even voicemail if they leave one. Never had this issue with AT&T. While the price for Mint is great and I plan on staying on it. Those few weeks to a month a year where it seems to turn to garbage are absolutely frustrating. Recently they were doing a software update to the towers nearby and WiFi calling which I need for having anything near reliable signal for calls in and out was on and off for about a month. Zero compensation or anything from Mint for the hassle of being unable to use my service as expected during that time period.
Did they tell you re software Update and the towers when you called in to complain about dropped calls? I'm asking because that's exactly what they told me

Right there on the Target site where this is purchased. In the reviews a couple say that they did not receive an unlocked from verified purchasers.

Example:
Not Unlocked

Would not recommend

AJ - 9 days ago, Verified purchaser

This is not the unlocked version. I spent two days without service. After speaking with my carrier, and google, both of them informed me that Target is not selling the unlocked version of this phone. This absolutely should not be sold/marketed as "unlocked"
That review is complete shyt. Give me a brake.

Lmao 🤣😂. A software update is done on your phone. There are no ways a rep would know exactly what the update on a tower is.

Then you say you were having wifi calling issues due to the software update. Lmao 🤣😂.
Wifi calling doesn't use the towers connection. It uses your internet connection and the 2 are not related at all.

They said they were updating the towers and in order to use WiFi calling you still need a sliver of actual cell signal to utilize it.

I talked to one of their technicians, I assume they know how their own technology works. WiFi calling is not the same as VoIP.

This is SO wrong. I am sometimes in the middle of nowhere with absolutely no cell signal whatsoever from any carrier. Yet I can still make WiFi calls.
