Avoid this phone like a plague. While the phone is great while it works and so is the camera, I constantly have issues with dropped calls and incoming calls going straight to voice mail … I didn't believe the reviews about bad reception and still bought it and now I am outside of the return window

The description clearly says "Unlocked". What reviews are you referring to?

It is possible that different carriers do wi-fi calling differently. What carrier do you have?

This is SO wrong. I am sometimes in the middle of nowhere with absolutely no cell signal whatsoever from any carrier. Yet I can still make WiFi calls.

I will repeat on every pixel thread. Do not buy any google Pixel. They are not well made and CS is terrible. Mine died after falling into water for less than 2 seconds despite being ip68. Samsung could basically shoot video underwater and be fine. These are crap phones with no quality control.
I've used Pixels for years and while they aren't perfect, they've been "good enough" for me to keep buying them. I have a Pixel 7 Pro now and it's the best phone I've ever had.

I did turn off 5G on my previous Pixel 6A though... but it otherwise worked well after upgrading to Android 13.

You're not going to get amazing battery life, but the phone is fine if you don't want a huge phone. My calls are as good as before and my data is even better now that I can get tmobile 5g UC.

I have both families of phones in my household. I used the OG pixel (which still works and does photo backup despite its 50% battery life). My moms had a 2, then a 4a, and recently 6a. The 4a had been the best phone she's ever gotten. Not a peep for two years in terms of issues. No learning curve through the updates since android marshmallow.

Sammy's have been fine too but the cameras could not compete at the price points and the slow updates left me without sometimes crucial new features. My daily driver is a note 9. It will likely be my last one from them.

Wife has 4a 5g, and it's crushed all her past motos and htcs. I'm forcing her to upgrade to the 7 because it's literally free to do so with all the incentives.

Google support has been ok to us? , but every solution they've had is to replace with a new phone...I guess Ill take that lol.

All in all I'd have stuck with Sammy if it weren't for their lack of community support.

Funny enough this is why I got rid of my pixel 6, 2 weeks after launch

I don't disagree that they may do a good enough job, but I feel you can find comparable or better phones for the same price most times. Especially Samsung with the crazy trade ins.

Pixel software is great. The hardware is what ruins it. I don't doubt they are better than most Moro or htc, I hated my moto g7. But for the price you can find substantially better phones with better Cs.

Google doesn't even have a phone number to call if I have an account login issue. I got locked out for days. Phone died and all I could do was twiddle my thumbs waiting for emails response. Google fi charged me before I even activated the sim and claimed they couldn't reverse it as I used their service (wtf!)

I have since switched to apple and it is phenomenal. Any small issue with anything including hardware I walk into the store and free replacement on the spot. Samsung is more painful but has always come through for me. Google is just crap for me.

I bought this phone at best buy about a month back. I got it for $10 because they gave me a good price for my s20 fe.

Overall I have not had any issues. I think it is a great phone and it takes awesome pictures. My only issue was it did get really warm but I don't notice it anymore after I got a case for it.
