Spotted this jointer a few days ago bit at $438 or so. Now it showed $396.
For a benchtop jointer with helical cutterhead from this brand, not too shabby IMO.
Question is, will it go any lower?

Lol, because it's me. There's a group on here that target me and others, just to downvote. Infact, another one they downvote is @ToolDeals ... I haven't seen him in a while, AND he had like a 4,000 rating.
To be fair, I'm very opinionated, and EXTREMELY picky about tools lol. So I'd downvote myself as well 🤣 🤣 🤣

From what I read, Shop Fox is owned by Grizzly, and represents a more polished end product to the Grizzly model. How that translates into daily use, I couldn't tell.

No worries. But with the whole Shop Fox vs Grizzly thing, I'm yet to see any difference in the tools that have no listed differences. Even down to the guts, with motor windings and armature quality. The only difference from what I've seen is the name, and how they can be purchased. Grizzly is all online (other than their 2 brick & mortar locations) and Shop Fox being available in stores and other online retailers.
Now with larger tools, the difference is in the freight shipping... it's crazy expensive to get the Grizzly tools shipped.
Lastly, they say service is better at Shop Fox, and with Shop Fox 2 year vs grizzly 1 year warranty. But both have poor customer service, and warranties.

Now. As far as the spiral head: Some of the carbide inserts are proprietary on some model of jointers and planers, which makes it a nightmare when the time comes... but I'd assume Grizzly wouldn't do that... but I could be wrong.

For small shop, both are great. Better than the ones from Craftsman, PC, and WEN. But if they weren't painted, you wouldnt be able to tell them apart lol.
