This is definitely a different use case. Get this if you want to tell Google to play music, watch videos on a somewhat tablet sized but less portable screen, control smart home devices, etc. I have a couple of the non max models and the speaker is not so good which is why I set up an alert for this one.

Edit: I'm out of touch from the latest Pixel rumors, sounds like it would be comparable.

I did buy one back when it was over $200 but luckily I had a Kroger discount at the time so it made it cheaper. I love this thing and have had it by my bedside for at least the last 1-1.5 years and still working!

All the talk around the pixel tablet says it's basically a nest hub with a removable screen. Of course, this deal is something you can purchase now, but for some folks it might be worth waiting for the dual functionality.
