I purchased the Asus TUF F15 that was on sale until yesterday for $599. I haven't opened it yet because I'm keeping any eye on other deals. Comparing the two, this Lenovo has a ~10% better GPU, but no thunderbolt, and a 256GB SSD vs 512GB on the Asus, at a price $50 less. The Ryzen 5600h and the intel 11400h appear to be about the same performance wise.

Doing some research, the Lenovo laptops seem to have an issue with the display hinges breaking. And it's not clear if this 2021 model has improved hinges. The Asus Tuf model has met "MIL-STD-810H standards" for drop testing which makes me a little more confident in the build quality.

At this price range there are compromises made on every laptop. But, for now I think I'll stick with the Asus Tuf.
I was in same boat and have been eyeing a better deal since the tuf laptop wouldn't ship until Nov 9. I cancelled it and pulled the trigger on this. I have plenty of external hard drives laying around and will primarily use it for cad designs and my 3d printer.

What's with all these marketing twits calling things 'Black Friday' deals more than a month ahead of Black Friday?!? Just annoying. Bad enough that actual Black Friday has been watered down to the point that most of the deals are nothing more than regular sales.
lmk where i can get these specs for $475 like the open box i got. Even $550 its slick af... its a helluva deal and real quality feel which doesnt exist on most of these budget gaming laptops.

I know nothing really about gaming laptops, so please forgive my stupid question....can this laptop run Star Citizen decently?
It's more than enough to run Star Citizen. You can max out all settings at 1080p probably.

Yeah... point wasn't whether it was a good deal or not. It was about misusing of the Black Friday tag to get attention all the time.

Already purchased it. Can confirm that it has an extra m.2 ssd slot and I installed a crucial 1tb ssd. Ram is dual channel but has one 8 gb stick installed. Put in a 32 gb ripjaw v skillz in it. Running well so far. Will probably add another 32gb stick at some point.

This is pretty good for light to moderate gaming. For example, Forza Horizons 5 runs at 70-80 FPS on High settings at 1080p on this laptop. As long as you aren't hitting the VRAM limit FPS will be fine (ultra settings tank to 15-20 FPS due to 4GB of VRAM with the 3050Ti on Horizons 5 for example, so as long as you tweak settings well you will have a good experience).

https://www.amazon.com/G-Skill-Ri...13d670b6bc

Nm you want a single 32GB stick

Only keeping one though, whichever is the best one without any problems or dead pixels. Got lucky to purchase one at $600 today. Not looking forward to going to a Walmart store to return 2 of them...
Got one of the 3050 Ti from OP at $550 here just in case. It's already ready for pickup. I'll post the benchmarks tomorrow or the next days comparing both straight out of the box after updating Windows and drivers.
I purchased 6 when I was shopping, yes, I have a problem. 😂

Edit: it was 7 laptops…

Note that BestBuy introduced restocking fee of $45 for phones, and 15% of purchase price for other electronics since September 15, 2022.

I found out the hard way while returning an item which didn't have software support I needed. I paid the restocking fee, and closed my BestBuy account. I'll be shopping with Amazon/CostCo instead.

Computers are not on their list of items with a restocking fee. Cameras and drones have always had a restocking fee at bestbuy. The phone thing may be new but the restocking fee on the items listed below is not.

"Drones, DSLR cameras and lenses, mirrorless cameras and lenses, electric bikes, electric mopeds, leg and body recovery systems, premium camcorders, projectors, projector screens, and special-order products"

Not going to find a 3050ti cheaper.

Much better than the hp victus @ $475
does this have type c charging? i'm looking for a lappy to get back in cs go and wc3 reforged ( used to play cs 1.3/1,6 and wc3) I think this will do.

It does not have USB C charging from what the reps say online for Lenovo. I don't think you'll find much USBC charging with dedicated graphics cards because the power draw from C is 100w max and these laptops pull something like 90w just from the GPU.
