got the 3d chair yesterday and thought i'd share some experience. delivery guy said it was the 4th one that day but only one with the installation. apparently folks are not selecting the free $99 installation option on the item page. they set it up, connected the foot rest and went through a brief testing to make sure it works. also took away all the packaging. we have it in the corner of the great room next to the tv. its a large room so it doesn't stand out like i though it might. it does look like a pretty high tech looking quality chair. it might be bit out of place in a more traditional decor.

everyone in the family had good things to say about it. in fact, wife fell asleep in the massage chair last night. very relaxing massage overall. there are rollers on the bottom of foot rest as well as on the calf section. the calf section also rocks back and forth for "kneading" action while airbags are inflated. its also neat that it will grab onto the feet using air bags then the foot rest gently pulls the legs for a nice stretch.

it will also hold on to the shoulders using airbags then 3d rollers will push up on the back and create an arch for a nice stretch. rollers go from the head / neck area all the way down to the butt so its a pretty long track. there are 21 preset massages but haven't tried them all yet. there does seem to be variety to the programming from the few i've tried. during programmed operation, settings such as back intensity, airbag intensity and foot roller intensity can be adjusted. there is a manual mode where all settings such as massage speed and others can be adjusted which i haven't tried yet.

heating in the lower back does work and there are 3 levels that can be selected. bt audio does pretty good job and better than what i expected. besides, these speakers won't be used for jamming anyway. still have to work through all the options so it will take some time to get a full picture.

now for some issues...one thing i would have liked is lighted keys on the remote. while the screen is backlit, buttons are not so its bit difficult to navigate in a darker room. i guess it might be a non issue once i get familiar with the button layout. also placement of the control knob on the arm rests sometimes causes it to turn on when you accidently bump the button while getting up from the chair. for some reason the back intensity setting didn't seem to have much difference between lowest and highest setting. may need to try more to tell for sure. when going through the initial body scan, for some reason it asks to manually adjust the shoulder height. not sure if that is supposed to be done automatically but detracts from the full auto experience.

EDIT:

shoulder height issue noted above is normal per the osaki/titan manual. insignia manual isn't very clear. osaki/titan manual has better explanation.

2) Shoulder position adjustment
·After detecting the shoulder position, the buzzer will beep. If there is any difference
from the actual shoulder position, adjust it to the appropriate position by pressing
the "UP" or "DOWN" key. The shoulder position has 11 adjustable levels. If there is
no shoulder position adjustment within 10 seconds, the massage function will start
automatically. Press "OK" directly to start massage immediately. If no shoulder
position can be detected, massage will be started according to the shoulder height
by default.

I bought this last time it was on sale for a thousand bucks. No regrets. Great purchase. Just make sure that your TV is mounted high enough on the wall so that you can see all of it in full recline...

5-10; 215 lbs - just got this last week from when it was last at this price. It would depend more on how long your torso is and it may not get all the way up to your neck(it does for me but just barely). Also note that it's lower to the ground(14") - it doesn't recline but I got something that would allow me to put my legs up that's around ~12"

4d is nothing more than 3d with speed adjustment which apparently this already has based on one of the q&a on the website. anything above 3d is just a marketing gimmick.

I think with 4D at certain point it stops for a moment. I think they are all marketing gimmick. People should shop by the brand instead of all these "new tech".

You're either buying a chair for comfort (or a massage in this case) or looks. Hard to get both.

Anyone short or with kids that have used this? I want to get it for my elderly mom who is 4'9". She needed help getting out of a standard sized massage chair.
I just got this delivered today, and I'm 5'3. This sits super low to the ground and she's have no problem, assuming you are talking about the $200 one.

Mine came today too.

Best buy unpacked and delivered inside the house. It's certainly small but the massage seems pretty solid. I cant really complain for 200.

Is the 3D chair really on discount or one of those "we marked it down to the real price?" $3999 MSRP seems extremely high for such a discount.

If anyone is interested here's the 3d user manual. good to see that it actually does have speed adjustment as well as stretching modes.

Ours arrived this morning w/free delivery and setup (not exactly a lot to do). Pleasantly surprised for $200! As it is still sale priced, I ended up ordering one for work and two as X-Mas gifts.

So is everyone happy with the $200 unit? Gives decent massage?

The main thing missing on this model is a lower leg/calf massage. But for $200 delivered...

Thanks, I figured that was missing but is the back part like one of those cheap ones that you can sling over an existing chair?
