got the 3d chair yesterday and thought i'd share some experience. delivery guy said it was the 4th one that day but only one with the installation. apparently folks are not selecting the free $99 installation option on the item page. they set it up, connected the foot rest and went through a brief testing to make sure it works. also took away all the packaging. we have it in the corner of the great room next to the tv. its a large room so it doesn't stand out like i though it might. it does look like a pretty high tech looking quality chair. it might be bit out of place in a more traditional decor.

everyone in the family had good things to say about it. in fact, wife fell asleep in the massage chair last night. very relaxing massage overall. there are rollers on the bottom of foot rest as well as on the calf section. the calf section also rocks back and forth for "kneading" action while airbags are inflated. its also neat that it will grab onto the feet using air bags then the foot rest gently pulls the legs for a nice stretch.

it will also hold on to the shoulders using airbags then 3d rollers will push up on the back and create an arch for a nice stretch. rollers go from the head / neck area all the way down to the butt so its a pretty long track. there are 21 preset massages but haven't tried them all yet. there does seem to be variety to the programming from the few i've tried. during programmed operation, settings such as back intensity, airbag intensity and foot roller intensity can be adjusted. there is a manual mode where all settings such as massage speed and others can be adjusted which i haven't tried yet.

heating in the lower back does work and there are 3 levels that can be selected. bt audio does pretty good job and better than what i expected. besides, these speakers won't be used for jamming anyway. still have to work through all the options so it will take some time to get a full picture.

now for some issues...one thing i would have liked is lighted keys on the remote. while the screen is backlit, buttons are not so its bit difficult to navigate in a darker room. i guess it might be a non issue once i get familiar with the button layout. also placement of the control knob on the arm rests sometimes causes it to turn on when you accidently bump the button while getting up from the chair. for some reason the back intensity setting didn't seem to have much difference between lowest and highest setting. may need to try more to tell for sure. when going through the initial body scan, for some reason it asks to manually adjust the shoulder height. not sure if that is supposed to be done automatically but detracts from the full auto experience.

EDIT:

shoulder height issue noted above is normal per the osaki/titan manual. insignia manual isn't very clear. osaki/titan manual has better explanation.

2) Shoulder position adjustment
·After detecting the shoulder position, the buzzer will beep. If there is any difference
from the actual shoulder position, adjust it to the appropriate position by pressing
the "UP" or "DOWN" key. The shoulder position has 11 adjustable levels. If there is
no shoulder position adjustment within 10 seconds, the massage function will start
automatically. Press "OK" directly to start massage immediately. If no shoulder
position can be detected, massage will be started according to the shoulder height
by default.

I bought this last time it was on sale for a thousand bucks. No regrets. Great purchase. Just make sure that your TV is mounted high enough on the wall so that you can see all of it in full recline...

5-10; 215 lbs - just got this last week from when it was last at this price. It would depend more on how long your torso is and it may not get all the way up to your neck(it does for me but just barely). Also note that it's lower to the ground(14") - it doesn't recline but I got something that would allow me to put my legs up that's around ~12"

Thanks, I figured that was missing but is the back part like one of those cheap ones that you can sling over an existing chair?
No, this is a full roller Shiatsu-style massager. There is also the option to switch between knocking or kneading, and the massage traverses from (approximately) neck to glutes. The manual says you can set the upper and lower limits manually, plus auto can do whole, upper, or lower body.

The upperbody padding can be flipped back to get a more intense massage, as well.

My wife is 480 lbs. I'm thinking about buying 2 chairs. One for her, and one for her ever-present giant bag of Cheetos. Not sure however if the chair is large enough to accommodate the Cheetos.
Which chair? The compact works for me, but I'm a svelt 215lbs (I'm working on it). A big beautiful woman needs her massages, but check the specs to make sure she won't find herself disappointed at a short operational period.

Just got mine and set up. This is totally a kid chair. Dont bother if your remotely over 175lbs. Great for a kids or gaming room but not remotely for everyday use. Im 6'1'' 220 and would never use this. My kid is 5'4'' 135 and perfect for him. So great price for a kids gaming chair.

every faux leather chair i have ever had has looked like garbage within 2 years. The only different on this is that people wouldn't be sitting in it constantly so perhaps it would last longer.
Maybe you're thinking of bonded leather which is made from thin pieces of leather glued to a backing typically made of paper or another thin material and can crack and peel after only mild use. Faux leather is more durable and often lasts longer than bonded leather since the PU/vegan/pleather whatever you want to call it is the same material all the way through.

If you look at luxury cars these days, they all offer faux leather options that are very durable. Tesla's vegan leather, MB Tex, BMW Sensatec, etc. Easy enough to find examples of 10+ year old cars without peeling. I don't know if the material of the Insignia chairs is of comparable quality, but I've had a bonded leather massage chair that peeled after a few years and these aren't that. I have had the 2D Best buy chair since June of 2021. Gets used every day and still looks as good as new. I'm going to order the 3D one and if it's not a significant upgrade, I'll have them come pick it up for a full refund. If it is a decent upgrade, I'll give my mom the 2D model and everyone wins.

Got my compact chair on Saturday. Definitely on the smaller size. Though it works for me at 5"11 200 lbs. If you were any wider or taller than me it probably wouldn't work.

Could someone with the 3D chair measure the shoulder width of the chair? I'd much appreciate it.

One of the reviews indicates it's too small for the 6'2" 260lbs user. I'm in that size range and I'm pretty broad in the chest and shoulders.

Torn between 2d (great value) and 3D (assuming better massage) any expert thoughts?

Alright, so mine was delivered on Saturday, and I've used it every day about twice a day since. I bought this for legitimate middle back pain I've been experiencing that has gotten very bad in the last 6 months. While I'm a little sore, I can already tell this is actually helping. I'm 5' 8" and 145 pounds and it's a great fit for me. I'd recommend it, and have actually been telling a lot of my coworkers about it.

Ordered couple weeks ago, but can't seem to be able to schedule a delivery day. Customer services seems useless just wanted me to cancel the order and order something else.
