if you don't mind my asking, where did you buy it from?
I believe it came from LG direct. It was a discount from an employee/student deal.

I believe was the thread.

How much would you guys pay for the 55" one? With this deal, the 55" would be $1718 after 10% tax and minus the $150 VISA card. Valuing the warranty at $0.

What would you pay for the 55" before taxes? Reasonable price given its current age.

looks like BB price matched it on their site. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-8...Id=6501476

I see 4799$ without GC.

Incremental brightness is not worth the premium price over the c2. Tvs are a disposable depreciating asset so get the one that fits your needs. I'll be getting a c2 shortly myself.

This is a very good point. As an enthusiast I didn't even really consider the warranty -- I'm in a position where I can replace if necessary, and have never had any issues with these TVs since I got my first in 2015. But for most people a 5 year warranty is definitely valuable.

You could argue at the low rate of failure, that it's a fairly expensive insurance policy, but of course you get other benefits like slightly increased brightness and such. I can see why that would be worth the increased cost.
G2 also has better sound and 802.11ax. It's also sturdier if you're planning on mounting to a cart.

They did not. That's the normal sale price now.

FWIW I bought a 65C7 in February 2018 and it developed some permanent burn in sometime in June 2021. They gave me a new replacement panel free of charge.

So they used to be pretty good about warranty on the C series. At least on the primary point of failure.

Anyone have an idea of how long this sale will last for? Possibly throughout Black Friday?

It was an instant price drop from BB that lasted less than a minute.

How, exactly, did you do this? And what was the timing? I tried this was a C7 recently and it was refused. I'm unclear if I even attempted the right "process".

It's been a year, but.

1. Took dozens of pictures of a color slideshow to show the burn in.
2. Submitted a warranty claim on their site.
3. They eventually sent someone to get the TV and fix it and give it back to me a few days later.

I just got an open box 77 g1 for 1700 from best buy (no remote or the proprietary mount). The fact the panel has 5 year protection is a big sell for the g series
