https://www.motorola.com/us/carri...patibility

It shows compatibility
thanks for that link showing compatibiity

so how is this phone ultimately? is it good for a kid who likes to play non-graphic intensive games? I like the storage as her current phone is like only 32 or 64gb.

also, i just double checked though, the link you provided shows a 2021 and 2022 model, this says it is 2021 5g, but the link shows 2021 is NOT compatible, but says the 2022 is compatible w/ Optimum mobile?

edit: oh duh, its at the top, found it.

I won't ever buy an unlocked phone from Amazon again. Bought an "unlocked" Moto Play Z3 back in the day. Used it on T-Mobile, then Verizon. Great phone, but years later after Moto stopped providing updates I tried to unlock the bootloader to load a ROM that had current support and found out that's not a possibility due to big brother Bazos' restrictions on an "unlocked" phone. Fooled me once, Amazon, but never again.
Do you have more info on that? It's hard to believe that Amazon would have anything to do with the software on these phones.

unlocked(carrier) and unlockable bootloader(security feature on phone) are two completely different things and probably has nothing to do with jeff bezos. It would be unusual to have a carrier branded device to have an unlockable bootloader in the USA because Mericuh

amazon used to sell variants of moto phones with amazon lock screen ads. these phones had a special firmware version and the bootloaders were not unlockable. i'd guess that is what he is talking about.

Wow. I had no idea. I thought they only did that with their own products.

Does it work if I use it in different county local network ?
Possibly? A "different country" is pretty open ended.

Here's a list of supported LTE bands on this 2021 Moto G Stylus from this page [motorola.com]: 4G LTE band 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, 17, 20, 25, 26, 29, 38, 40, 41, 66, 71

Go find out what LTE bands the various carriers in your country of interest uses and see if they overlap with the supported bands on this phone. Here's one resource [frequencycheck.com] and here's another [urlhasbeenblocked.com] to look these up. More specifically, go find the mobile carrier you're interested in within that country and see what specific bands that carrier supports.

All moto g models have headphone jacks and micro SD slot. Moto Edge line has neither, but have better cameras and processors. Why can't they put both together😞. Moto Z4 was probably their best phone IMHO

Amazon had moved beyond the lock screen ads era by the time I purchased the phone. The listing included that the phone came with "Pre-installed selection of Amazon apps, including the Amazon Widget, Amazon Shopping, and Amazon Alexa.", was an "Amazon exclusive version with Amazon Alexa built-in", and was "Unlocked for the freedom to choose your carrier. Compatible with AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon networks. SIM card not included. Customers may need to contact Sprint for activation on Sprint's network".

I was optimistically foolish enough to think an unlocked phone meant everything was unlocked or unlockable since Motorola support specifically hosts a website with a walkthrough for unlocking the bootloader on certain models of their phones including this one (motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/unlock-your-device-a) and I had run through it with a prior Moto phone with no problems. But it wouldn't work this time. I finally chatted Motorola support and received a brief message that they don't support unlocking the bootloader for Amazon versions of their phones. Being an amazon variant was the only reason Motorola wouldn't unlock the bootloader.

It makes sense- if Amazon offered to move a couple mega units of my product and the condition is that they get to modify the software and I have to lock the firmware so customers can't strip out their modifications and I'm Motorola, I'd take that deal in a heartbeat. I just wish the listing had been more forthright regarding that particular proviso, because I'm one of the small percentage of customers who will follow the directions on XDA , Android Authority, etc. to switch ROMS to extend the lifespan of my hardware.

So I can't say whether or not the same applies to this phone, but based on my own experience, I'm no longer willing to take that chance.

Xfinity Mobile don't support it either, but it works fine (just like it does on Verizon). Some of the MVNO's simply have a restricted list of models they choose to officially support.
Does this mean that it would still work with Xfinity Mobile? If so, is it as simple as swapping in the SIM card?

Boo for the cutting board size of slab. Hey Moto, you have gazilion models, and none are compact. Time to make one
This! Its like they're normalizing phones to have 6"+ screens for what? Feels like having a tablet in your pocket weighing you down. I'm still rocking my old LG with a 5.3" screen. Pixel 5 is a great size that even G doesn't even make anymore.
