They are a Milwaukee authorized dealer. As far as I know, the M12 inflator is not discontinued, so it would be odd for them to just stop carrying it and never get stock again. Yes, I'm sure it was a listing error, but before I let them off the hook, I'll wait it out to see if the inflator shows back up on their website (it's backordered on my order details) and then I'll file a charge back if they don't send the inflator or offer a credit on the batteries in a prorated amount, because they only partially fulfilled my order.

I have no problem with a company making a listing mistake and cancelling orders, I do when they lie about it and try to get away with fulfilling less than what they advertised.
You put my thoughts into words. I checked the typical tool review sites and saw no posts about a new inflator coming, and Milwaukee typically drops hints about new tools coming to hype everyone up who worship team Red. I would be surprised if they don't get more inflators in stock since it seems to be a highly popular tool they sell in the M12 line. I'm planning to hold out a few more days to see what happens….

Interesting, my order showing the back order for the inflator is now gone, like poof it never existed. So that's how this story ends - need to call customer service.

My order details had the same thing happen, an update that must of occurred in the last few hours because the inflators still showed as part of my order history earlier this morning.

I do have screenshots with the inflators attached. For whatever reason, they broke the inflators into separate orders.

Their is also a line item for the inflators on the invoices that were packaged with my batteries (batteries arrived today; two separate orders).

I obviously didn't receive either inflator, and therefore as far as I'm concerned my order is incomplete. It's on Northern Tool to send the inflators or prorate my battery costs.

To pretend like the inflators were never part of the order, or that it's okay to just use the excuse (we ran out of promotional inventory) is not acceptable.

Same garbage with my order. Order no longer showed the inflator. I called and looked up the order status, which said canceled. But of course, they shipped the batteries. I spoke with a rep who said that it was an error and the inflator would not be fulfilled, but they didn't charge me for the inflator. How would you charge me for it when it was supposed to be free? They told me to just refuse the package of batteries. What a PITA! Bait and switch. First and last time ordering from this company!

I called and was told they tried to cancel orders and sent emails about it being sold out/marketing mistake. I never received any emails. Got a return label to send back. PITA.

That ain't it. I'm waiting until next week to contact them, but once they tried to wash the order history page and come up with nonsensical excuses to not fulfill half of the order (the inflator), all after shipping the batteries, I decided to not just ship the batteries back without either a charge back and/or BBB complaint

I received my batteries today and no inflator like everyone else. What a waste of time. I even opened it knowing my inflator wasn't in there and the invoice shows "1 x inflator". This was just a scam just to get us to order.

Why would they fulfill the orders knowing well they didn't have any inflators in stock?

I just chatted with CSR and they will let me return the batteries. Even as I'm writing this now, their website still shows "free inflator". This is just bait and switch at this point, if any business are getting MASS amount of orders and MASS amount of complaints for said orders, you would think the VERY first thing you would do is remove the inflator to prevent any more angry customers, yeah?

Complete bait and switch.

Shipped the batteries no inflator.

Now I have to return the order and pay to ship it back.

They made it clear to me that it was an error and that the inflators will never ship.

Then they shouldn't have shipped the batteries, or better yet they shouldn't have advertised the free inflators with the batteries.

I paid $79.99 for both the batteries and the inflator. The sent only one of the items, they then retroactively removed the inflator from my order history---yet my order confirmation (e-mail) and my packing slip show the inflator.

So, if they don't intend on shipping the inflator (I'd be willing to bet that at some point they list and sell the M12 inflator again on their website, it's not a discontinued item) I don't intend on paying full order price for a half fulfilled order.

How they are playing this on their end is the reason why I'm willing to file a chargeback (I've only done it once before when I was double charged for a B&M point of sale purchase at K-Mart (so it's been years)) and leave a review with the BBB. Hell, I'll contact my and their Attorney General which is also recommend for these type of consumer complaints.

Since they weren't competent enough to catch the error prior to shipping the batteries, all they had to do was acknowledge the error, contact the consumer (they claim they did, but did they?), offer a partial refund to keep the batteries, be polite, be proactive, etc.

Instead they're being bullish as if they didn't cause this mess and they're being borderline shady by wiping items from order histories. My batteries were delivered today and outside of this thread I haven't heard a single word from them about their intentions with the inflators. They're hoping that enough people will not open an RMA or at worse, will just send the batteries back so they don't have to take a loss fulfilling an advertised promotion.

I asked for a partial refund since the inflator isn't going to ship and they said no lol.

They told me that the batteries were too good of a deal already and that they couldn't do that. I told them that their too good of a deal was available at the same price at Home Depot.

Also, I told them it was scummy that the listing is still up with the inflator still being advertised for free.
