There's also old people and beginners. There's also exercises like the lateral side raise where most people can't lift nearly as much as they can with like a bicep curl. Some people also use weights for more cardio purposes as opposed to lifting-to-failure purposes.

As a side note, last year I purchased 5-40lb from Walmart around $1 per pound. I ended up ordering a ton to try and match weights close to their stated weight. The tolerances may be off significantly. I had weights as much as one pound over and under for the same weight.

I purchased the 45-50-55 now, but plan on ordering more after they come in and returning the ones that have large variances

What does a +/- percent of 3 mean? Is that like the weight accuracy. So a 100 lb dumbbell could be 97 in one hand and 103 in the other

Yes, that is what the tolerance means. Most hex dumbbells not from G.S brands have 3%
