I have a lot of expansions for games I like, but i don't think any have hit the table as many times as Tuscany has. Viticulture is a fun game on it's own, but the expansions in Tuscany really make the game extra fun. The special characters especially. There is a lot of content in the box for an expansion. This game and Euphoria are the two that really got me into this game designer. I now own just about every game he has designed or published. The quality of the materials in his games are always top notch as well. Highly recommend.

Normally I'm lukewarm on expansions, but Tuscany is an awesome/totally worth it expansion to Viticulture.

Viticulture is also on sale for 34.50 dollars with applied coupon which might be the lowest price ever on amazon. According to camelcamelcamel the lower price ever for viticulture was 38.36 in 2017

I played one game on the regular board to learn how to play. Second game I played on Tuscany and I could have just skipped the base board. Having all 4 seasons in the tracker made tracking where I was in the game so much easier, instant buy.

So the description of the base game from the other deal says, "The essential edition includes the second edition of viticulture along with several elements from the original Tuscany expansion pack". Are there additional components in this expansion ?

It's confusing, just know that viticulture essential needs Tuscany essential. There were weird things after reprinting the Kickstarter version, it makes little sense.

As others said, I find playing just the base of viticulture boring, but with Tuscany this game is in my Top 5!
