Offer Rules: Cardholders in rewards programs will earn an additional 2% cash rewards, or 2 points, or 2 Miles per $1 spent on purchases made on 11/05/2022. Cardholders not in a rewards program will be issued a statement credit equal to 2% of total purchases made on 11/05/2022. This special offer is available on any Bank of America Consumer or Small Business credit cards. Rewards type is dependent on the card you are using. See your current Program Rules for any rewards program details. For Consumer credit cards, the statement credit will generally be applied to your existing balance with the highest APR before being applied to any balances with lower APRs. For Small Business credit cards, the statement credit will generally be applied to your existing Purchase balance. Receipt of a statement credit does not affect your responsibility to pay your Minimum Payment Due shown on each statement you receive from us. Cash Advances and Balance Transfers are not purchases and do not apply for purposes of this offer. Allow up to 12 weeks after the promotion ends for the promotional cash rewards, points, Miles, or statement credit to be added to your account. The value of this reward may constitute taxable income to you. You may be issued an Internal Revenue Service Form 1099 (or other appropriate form) that reflects the value of such reward. Please consult your tax advisor, as neither we, nor our affiliates, provide tax advice. Limitations: All of the following conditions are applicable throughout the entire promotional period, which is inclusive of the date the offer begins through the date the promotional cash rewards, points, Miles, or statement credit are fulfilled. Only purchases that appear on your statement with a transaction date of 11/05/2022 will qualify. This offer will not apply to any customer bonus or account opening bonus, nor will you receive the Preferred Rewards bonus on the additional rewards earned. Your account must be open and have active charging privileges in order to receive the promotional cash rewards, points, Miles, or statement credit as a result of this offer. Other advertised promotional offers can vary from this promotion and may not be substituted. Promotional cash rewards, points, Miles, or statement credit earned as a result of the promotion are incremental of cash rewards, points, Miles, or statement credits earned on purchases through regular use of your card's rewards program and/or other promotions you may have. Purchase eligibility is based on transaction(s) occurring on the account from 12:00am to 11:59pm Eastern Time (ET) on 11/05/2022. This means that your transaction must occur during the Eastern Time promo period – not your local time. For example, a transaction that occurs at 11pm Pacific time on 11/05/2022 would be considered 2am Eastern Time on 11/06/2022 and therefore will not be eligible for the bonus offer. Merchants can impact when a transaction will appear on your statement if they delay processing of the purchase. Transactions with delayed processing of 90 days or more will not be eligible to be included in the promotional offer.

I have property tax due at the end of the year, I wonder if I can pay with credit card and get this deal. They charge additional 2.5% processing fee, I should still come out ahead if I can get this 2% extra.

You should be able to. As long as it's done during the promotion time period as stated:

Purchase eligibility is based on transaction(s) occurring on the account from 12:00am to 11:59pm Eastern Time (ET) on 11/05/2022. This means that your transaction must occur during the Eastern Time promo period – not your local time.

Be careful though. Tax agencies go on sleep mode on weekends. They may keep cc on file and not process until Monday which will not get you 2%. Do you or anyone has first hand experience with this?

Good point dadab and might be worth a call.

I will say most cities/towns use a third party to handle these transaction so there is a very high probability that the city or town's work hours have nothing to do with the charge being processed.

I plan on doing this for my $4k tax bill. I'll make a small amount since the CC fee is only 2.25% and I'll have 18 months at 0% interest since I just got the card last week.

I will update this thread after my transaction is complete.

Let us know how it goes. If you see a pending cc charge right away then it's a good sign. Again, each regions tax agency is different.

Bump. If you're in the Platinum Honors Preferred Rewards level with the Customized Cash card, it's 7.25% CB on your selected category today. Cash Unlimited and Travel Rewards is 4.26% on all purchases. This is super slick if you're in preferred rewards.

Paid my RE taxes just now and I see a pending charge on my BAC Unlimited Cash Rewards card for the amount of ~$4,000. I also received an email from the county treasurer showing the tax had been paid.

Thanks to the OP's post ( Applause ) I'll actually make a small amount ($50) on this charge and have ~18 months to pay it off. If only every tax payment was like this. Smilie

I paid my cable bill on 11/5 but didn't get the 2% bonus because transaction date showed as 11/6. On 11/18 they gave me an automatic $1.22 "More Rewards Day Courtesy Adjustment". I never contacted them, so they apparently figured the issue out on their own.
