Went ahead and bit on this one. Been meaning to buy about 4 sizes of deep impact sockets for a while. But seeing how much places charge for single deep impact sockets, this was a no brainer to just go ahead and get all of them with this set.

Newbies questions.
1. PITTSBURGH vs Husky quality?
2. Are these good enough for lug nuts of Japanese cars such as RAV4, Camry,...?

I bought 1/2" 11pc sets off Amazon for $20 set. Worked fine when I changed out the Shocks and Struts.

Why so expensive? Is it made in US?

If you want to go all in on their 3/8" and 1/2" Drive Master Impact Socket Set (108-Piece), it's $40 off at $229:

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky.../313551380

It comes in two plastic cases: one for 3/8" and the other for 1/2".

Note the product listing doesn't show the full list of sizes in the set. You have to click the "Specifications" link in the "Product Details" section which will give you a PDF with the full list.

Is there a benefit to having deep sockets if I'm only using this to remove shallow lugnuts? I don't work on my car (other than changing the wheels out) so is there any other use for deep sockets? Thanks.

Deep sockets are useful when a nut is far down on a bolt or a long nut. If you're only removing lug nuts, you should look online for a set of non-marring sockets. They help protect your rims.

Deep sockets definitely add more torque with the impact wrenches. Also, helpful while using the torque wrench on the lug nuts as it gives much more workable room without hitting/scratching the wheels

Ok, thanks for the info. I assume these are marring?

Thanks for the info. I would have thought the opposite as far as torque goes, but I'm a newbie with this stuff. More workable rooms sounds good.

Hmmm.. Tough one, what's used by size 23 and 25 to justify the extra 15. How low has it gone before. I am also looking for a set, mainly used on Japanese cars.
The only thing on a car that would use something as big as 23 or 25 is the axle nut, so if you ever need to replace a wheel bearing or CV axle. Also maybe the crank pulley bolt. But if it's a japanese car, it'd most likely use 21 or 24mm. The other use of 23 and 25mm would be to press out bushings.

These are higher end CrMo steel vs cheaper CrVa steel that you normally see on impact sockets. And no, def not USA made at this price - most likely Taiwan.

1 - These are CrMo steel, so you need to compare against HFT's more expensive CrMo set and not their cheaper Vanadium sets. You also need to look at sizes… sets with larger sizes have sockets that get substantially more expensive in the larger 20mm + sizes. I have a set of these in 3/8 size and also own HFT impacts and can say the Husky quality of finish was generally higher than what I saw in normal Pittsburgh HFT impact quality.
2 - Yes
