Lol why would anyone get this when you can get the AMD model with twice the RAM and storage with just a couple of dollars more?
I'd consider that a much better deal and price to specs ratio.

Yes, that is a great deal but there are plenty of reason for getting the Intel version. In Almost all games, it performs better and any CPU intensive and Creative applications, whether single threaded or multi-threaded, core i7-12700H literally thrash 6800H/6900HX by a good margin. You can check the Hardware Unboxed and Jarrod's Tech CPU comparison reviews. A lot of people buy these laptops not just for gaming but for other applications and for them, the Intel version is a better option than AMD.
For example, I do a lot of Video editing using Premiere and Vegas Pro, Video Encoding and big Coding projects using Visual Studio, SQL and Java and was using last year's AMD 5800H, RTX 3070 Legion 5 Pro. But this year, just switched to the Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED with 12700H and RTX 3070 Ti 8GB and 4K OLED, when it was $1200 (I had some newegg coupons) and the performance difference is pretty significant. I still have both and did a side by side comparison for my workloads.
If gaming is the main purpose and you're planning to game in 1600P resolution, the AMD version is a better deal as you mentioned but if you're planning to do other stuffs, especially creative works, 12th gen i7 is good amount faster.

Depending on how comfortable you are opening your laptop and/or disabling RAID I do believe that the Lenovo 2x1TB versions used to (and still may) ship in RAID0. This means you will not be able to simply pop out the second ssd and upgrade it to a larger size without going through the steps to delete RAID.

It may not be hard for some but not all....
