*PRIMARY* rental is rare and usually carries an AF. Don't book trips on this card, use a Chase Sapphire for that. Use this for rent only and pocket points. My rent is over 5k, so I'll make $750 a year in travel effortlessly, more if I transfer to the right flights on AA.
Is Costco Visa good for travel?
Its ironic Costco removed Extended warranty from today.

Not especially.

Generally if you travel enough to care about what card is good for travel then you'll want a card (or multiple ones) with annual fees, because you can usually still make them profitable above the fee and get significantly better rewards value too.

Another option, if you don't travel all that much but still want better than the 3% your costco card gets you on travel, requires BoA status but can get you 5.25% on travel....

that's too bad because if i were a bilt-competitor, i would come to this thread and declare this card will charge you outrageous cash advance fees for paying your rent using a credit card and literally thousands of gullible readers will believe it and move on. you might be one of those.

What do u need to do to get "BoA status"?

Incidentally, knowing BILT is from Wells Fargo, are they doing this rent thing to collect data on customers? I know WF is hiring a lot in High tech. If so, they might abolish this rent thing after a while, assuming its too good to be true - WIIFT vs WIIFM?

Do with this information what you will.
  • 1/21 05 PM: apply for the card
  • 1/23 09 AM: receive an email that says my card is approved
  • 1/23 10 AM: call Bilt, because I am not able to add the card to Apply Pay; only to find that my card, which was approved 30 minutes ago has been "compromised". They now have to issue another card
Like other said, the $500 I stand to gain from this card doesn't seem worth the trouble so far..

Have at least 100k in assets held with BOA. For most the easiest way would be moving some IRA money into Merrill Lynch.

Do that and you get 75% more credit card rewards...meaning you can get 5.25% cash back on several different categories depending what card you hold (though capped at $2500 per quarter per card), and 2.625% cash back on non-category stuff with no cap at all.

im going to go this route starting next month due to the rampant fraud that is occurring. perhaps limiting my purchases to just one merchant will cut back on exposure and could help solve some other issues with this card.

I received an email from BILT upon credit card approval.
As a thank you for being a Bilt Member, we're excited to offer you 5X points on all of your eligible purchases (excluding rent) for the next 5 days starting Monday, January 23.
That's 5X on meals, online purchases, trips, gas, and much more. Up to 50,000 points.

Would anyone know if I pay tuition fees using the credit card (will be hit with a 3% txn fee from my college), will I be able to receive the 5X rewards bonus points on the spent amount?

based on your short post about the bilt email, i would say tuition fees do not amount to "eligible purchases."

This is incorrect information, you can use their "mail a check feature" or "ACH feature"
