Please be careful about when it says Rent Payments. Only specific rental companies are covered in it.Triple Check with your rental company if they accept it.
so we can get onus point for paying taxes ?? can you please confirm
On opening they send an email saying for the next five days you get a bonus 5x on all transactions other than rent. So I paid taxes during that time. Max 50k points, which equals $10k spend. YMMV, but others report this too. I did this just last week, btw.
it's not really a big question because wf/bilt is not new to banking and credit card fraud. they have investigators. if they suspect anything, they will ask for the lease and go from there. they could reverse all of your points, close your account, mark your credit report, and/or send you to collections. it's probably not worth it just for a few hundred dollars. how often do we see so many people on this forum complain about "credit card" stuff when in reality they have questionable or criminal activity in their background. possible credit card fraud is what's stopping most people from doing what you are asking about.
The fact that you said 'collections' shows that you're speculating and have no idea what you're talking about. They can't send you to collections for paying off your card. They can rescind points or close the account, but collections would be highly illegal. Please only comment if you have proof or know what you're talking about. LOL.
PRIMARY Car Rental Collision coverage on a no annual fee card is the reason I have this card. Loaded my card on my Hertz account and it actually shows this benefit. Worth the space in my wallet for peace of mind when renting a car.
Most credit cards come with secondary car rental collision coverage. This means if you damage a rental car they come after your personal car insurance first and then the card will cover the deductable. Bilt card avoids this.
Not aware of any other no annual fee card with this feature. Trip cancellation coverage isn't bad either.
Why do you want to pay a car loan which could be 5-7% interest with a credit card that may charge 20%. (Cc could offer free interest for 12 months std)
That's just it. I don't find the benifit high enough to get this credit card BUT.....
lets say your rent is $1k per month and you will pay rent for 10 years.... that is 120K in rent paid and that is $1,200.00 benifit. Not to shabby.
I'm reading every comment here because I'm so on the fence. So if I took your comment I go yeah not too shabby since it's free money but 1,200 in 10 years with inflation is not even that much and when I think of risk/reward balance of these hacks happening and other inconveniences…. Is it worth it? Free money is a powerful concept but I don't know… especially considering I don't want to be renting for that long (only time will show that) is it really worth it is the big question I'm trying to answer. Probably losing more money with the amount of time I'm spending on it but I consider that education and that's priceless 🤣
Anyone had multiple hacks? I mean i get it it's super annoying but if it's one time hassle and year long earning points, eventually we move on as long as there is no permanent damage. Just trying to justify this card but the cons are making it very hard.
When I was younger had the same exact thing happen. Wrote an email to all the banks board members explaining the branch manager refused to even look into it. One of the executives assistants reached out to me and reversed the charges and noted they would counsel the branch manager.
If your apartment is buddies with Bilt, you can earn bilt rewards without this card. Did not know about the 5 transactions a month part and got burnt with this. Closed the account now and just linked my bank to Bilt. Seems to be a lot more reliable than dealing with shady Wells Fargo and this card.
If It's not different from other Wells Fargo cards (and I don't think it is?), you should be able to check if you're pre-approved before applying. Here: https://web.secure.wellsfargo.com.../yourinfo/
BTW With Wells Fargo you should ignore any "pre-selected" offers you receive from them (by mail, email, etc). They are not pre-approvals. The only way to get a reliable (not guaranteed) pre-approval is through that link. I think.

It can be used on Wells Fargo mortgages

So I paid through a different account. But now the transaction on the Bilt card went through.
TL;DR- Account "compromised" but a big pending transaction went through and I got to pay rent twice
How to do this? Can you explain. Thanks.
