Samsung EPP price. Must log in with your employee account to see discount. Lowest ever so far. Have a feeling it goes lower by Jan-feb, but pulled the trigger now anyway.
So I'm with many of you on here who do not need (want) rear satellites.
That said, with no EPP this is 6 bills for me while the Vizio M512a-H6 is $439 and is rated slightly better.
Realize the rears play into that but...for the difference in cash wondering if it doesn't make sense to get the Vizio, and just not use the rears.
Long shot here but anyone with experience with both, or an educated (operative word) opinion that can chime in on potential performance?
This went up to $569.99 for me. Anyone else? It's been $479.99 for awhile and the black friday sale seems to still be going on so not sure why the price popped up again. I'll be waiting until black friday and hope it goes back down. Waiting for some samsung rewards points to post before I buy anyway...

So I got this in hand and hooked up to a badass 2021 Samsung QN900a tv. I bought it for the wireless atmos and Q symphony features both of which don't work or aren't as expected.
The good:
Looks great and Sounds amazing when playing high end content from Netflix or similar. Gets really loud. Too loud to use for normal tv watching imo so I wouldn't want to go past this level of sound bar and still have my neighbors like me. Feel like id get a headache at volume level 40+ for too long.
Subwoofer is beefy looking. Didn't realize how big it was actually going to be geez. Great deep bass sound.
Reasons to go with the better 990b? Well if you are isolated or tucked in some basement man cave home theater and can blast the tv as loud as you want then yeah. For most people this will be more than enough already.
The bad:
Wireless Dolby atmos is only for 2022 Samsung tvs which I am fking pissed about considering I have the 2021 flagship tv that they sold. It will work but I have to connect in another goddam cord. The QN900a has the one connect box so I have ZERO wireless on the entertainment center. Since this sound bar sits below the tv you'll have power and hdmi cable just sitting there. I'm not drilling another hole into my super expensive entertainment oak wood paneling. Hell no, so I gotta figure this out somehow to make it aesthetically pleasing.
Q symphony is gimmicky. I was excited to try this considering my amazing tv has the 360 built in speaker into the bezel, but nope, Can't really tell a difference as I switched if on and off. I think it's because the sound bar over powers anything the tv speakers can do and just drowns it out completely. Also Keep in mind this TV has the crazy good speakers already built in considering it's the 8k neo qled flag ship of 2021 with 360 degree sound so if you have a lower end Samsung tv then you certainly will notice ZERO difference as to whether Q symphony is on or off IMO. Lastly Q symphony only works via Wi-Fi connection or hdmi earc. I prefer to have my tv internet hardwired to Ethernet so now I would have to use Wi-Fi to connect the Q symphony. Not sure I'll even bother considering it didn't do anything
So in the end the 2 features I wanted the most don't even work, but turns out not to really matter anyway. Se la vie.
I've been using mine for a few days now and I do not see anything special at all. Almost sounds like regular tv sound. My family thinks the Bose speakers I was using sounds better. One thing that annoys the hell out of me and I can't figure it out and not even tech support. The sounds do not match the tv. The people talking is either way before or way after the actual sound. It reminds me of those karate shows growing up when the talking never matched the mouths because of the translation. If I can't figure it out I will return it.
