Yes, apply as a sole proprietor with your social security number instead of an EIN and your business name the exact same as your own legal name. Zero employees. Business income can be listed as little as $1,000 (resale, babysitting whatever it is you do)

Most Ink card require a recon call or get a pop-up saying you will hear about a decision later. About 90% of people get that. Also, most get a low limit ($3-4K)

Remember the $900 comes back as points, not cash (but can be converted to cash).
Got this card mid October for the regular $750/7500 promotion. Called in today to see if I could get the $900/6000 promotion and they did it no problem, just have to have reached the 6000 threshold when calling. In case anyone is in the same situation as I was 👍🏻
No, they most certainly don't, and no, it's not income

I've got 7 figures of Chase UR points and 0 1099s.

It's not income.

The IRS agrees it's not income.

If you have to spend anything to get it, it's a REBATE, not income. Not taxable, No 1099.

Here's a bunch of sources all telling you you're wrong

https://www.cnbc.com/select/are-c...%2Dtaxable.

https://www.cnet.com/personal-fin...s-taxable/

https://calibrecpa.com/tax-regula...k-rewards/

I could list 20 more- they'd all say the same.

The only time you get a 1099 from Chase (or any bank) for CREDIT CARD BONUSES is if it's a non spending bonus

Like a referral.

And ONLY if those add up to more than $600 in a year.

NOT for signup bonuses which require spend. Which, again, are not taxable and no 1099 is issued

Also taxable would be things like offering you $ or points for opening a checking or savings account--- because you don't need to SPEND anything. So if that added up to more than $600 you'd get a 1099.

But credit card spend required signups? Not income. No 1099.

I got the business limited card just recently and got the $900 worth of points. Would I qualify for the points on this card as well.

My wife applied yesterday using my referral link and got approved instantly. She does a 1099 side job that she used as her business. I may have her refer me next month so I can pick up the ink unlimited. That will give us 220k points and more with the spend.

I applied for the other chase Business card with $900 cashback offer. They pulled my credit history. I had excellent credit history - rating 800+. But declined the card because I did not provide proper business details. So, if you don't have registered business, don't even try for this. I have multiple Amex Business cards. Didn't have to go through this kind of scrutiny to get those. The worst part is that I had to call them multiple times to finally come to know that they are not approving my application. They did not send message or letter. I have Chase Bank Accounts and Chase Freedom credit card in good standing - still didn't help. Just FYI.

Yes. Close the existing one, wait a week and apply again.

All cards I've seen go to 30 days hold so they can reopen... best after 30 days

This is correct.

Remember folks, the $900 is still reportable income that comes in the form of a 1099 at years end.
This is not accurate. Rebates on spending are not treated as taxable by the IRS, just like coupons are not taxed. People can received a 1099 for REFERRAL bonuses, since those do not require spend (and are thus income rather than discounts), but not for a bonus on spend.

Also just cuz you get a 1099 doesn't always mean it's taxable.

You should not spend more than you usually do just because of bonuses.

Otherwise there is "manufactured spending" if done carefully won't get your account shut down.

Pay taxes with it.
