Wow! The prices are getting insane!

And too many of these leak now. Duracell used to be a good battery. I've had unopened boxes that, over time, some of the batteries have leaked inside the unopened box. Just crazy!!

If I had something specific to purchase using the rewards, I might consider. But to tie up about $70 for the bigger packs that are sure to have some leakage - it's a no go for me.
Nope. Gotta be new money to them. (This same question seems to get asked every time this deal posts, but no big deal…)
I used to have a stockpile of batteries from these deals, but I realized that the time and effort spent cleaning up and repairing all of the toys and electronics that the Duracell batteries leaked in far exceeded whatever money I saved on buying the batteries. Now it's strictly Energizer or LSD rechargeables. Not free, but no longer have to worry about leaking batteries.

Thumbs up and repped! No other store can you spend $15 with 10 old cartridges and get back $35 in store credit. Just in time for November $10 spend requirement for recycling. Big Grin
It seems the batteries are $20 after the coupon before taxes

Exactly. People complaining about leaking batteries.. i mean who buy these to really use them? I give away mine to family friends every now and then and just keep one pack of both with me.

I have been using those Emailed rebate E-master cards to buy OD/OM GC.. I also am able to find discounted gift cards (8% off) at some on line sellers. It all helps.. I always get the rewards..

PM the batteries to Walmart or Amazon who has the aaa 24 packs for $17 tonight. 16 packs of either are $16.

I am going to do it on Tuesday so the rewards are ready the next day.. Tis the PM season as we move closer to BF.

LSD batteries? Interesting, have you tried DMT batteries, heard its action potential is stronger than even LSD. Personally, I don't mess with any of those and just keep on alkaline.

I just looked up the price of a 24 AAA Duracell at a place I wouldn't think has good prices on batteries and they are $16.99 there (Home Depot: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Durac.../308040317) compared to $31.19 on this deal.

The battery prices on this deal are so inflated at nearly double the price of other places, is it really a deal?

For a lot of things, couldn't you effectively buy batteries on a true sale somewhere else and whatever you can use cash back rewards on somewhere else and have it actually be the close to the same price or cheaper if you're paying almost 2x for batteries and a decent markup on another cash back-eligible item at OfficeDepot? You also then wouldn't have your money tied up in Office Depot's cashback system.

I wasn't even looking for a good price on batteries with the Home Depot link I provided. I was just trying to save some people from the slickdeals effect of thinking this was a 50% off deal as opposed to a decent deal $31.19 for 24 AAA and something else that costs $31.19 at Office Depot vs best case $48.18 ($16.99 24 pack AAA and assuming Office Depot is competitively priced on another $31.19 of purchases elsewhere) is a decent discount of about 36% off.

If you then factor in the other items you might buy at Office Depot are probably also inflated by a healthy margin and there are even better deals on batteries than the price I cited, then it's still potentially a competitive deal (maybe more like 30% off normal prices if you use the $16.99 HD battery price and factor in a 10% markup on $31.19 worth of stuff at Office Depot), but a lot less appetizing to tie your money up in a cash back program where you might not normally shop and for batteries that a lot of us don't really need right now anyway if similar deals can be had on individual purchases elsewhere.
