Wow! The prices are getting insane!

And too many of these leak now. Duracell used to be a good battery. I've had unopened boxes that, over time, some of the batteries have leaked inside the unopened box. Just crazy!!

If I had something specific to purchase using the rewards, I might consider. But to tie up about $70 for the bigger packs that are sure to have some leakage - it's a no go for me.
Nope. Gotta be new money to them. (This same question seems to get asked every time this deal posts, but no big deal…)
I used to have a stockpile of batteries from these deals, but I realized that the time and effort spent cleaning up and repairing all of the toys and electronics that the Duracell batteries leaked in far exceeded whatever money I saved on buying the batteries. Now it's strictly Energizer or LSD rechargeables. Not free, but no longer have to worry about leaking batteries.

Can you use reward points to make the purchase and get back the points again?
When I called customer service to price match with Amazon, they created a new order for the batteries and they offered to apply rewards toward the battery purchase. Ironically, I had the previous rewards from another battery order I placed and returned because they couldn't price match. YMMV

So which batteries you buy, if not Duracell?

Good find, I also found them on Amazon for $15.17 with s&s
This is a deal if you planned to buy something from OfficeMax anyway. OfficeMax price matches, plus there may be some thanksgiving deal at OfficeMax where I can use this reward.

Just say no… Swore off Duracells as over ~8 packs in last decade, have had at least a dozen cases of leaking batteries and some very messy corroded cleanup. All years before their best by dates and as you can easily find pics online, some sitting in the package not touched yet. Always stored in a cool dry place, etc.

As others said, I use either Low Self Discharge rechargeables now and if disposables needed or preferred, Energizer Lithiums.

Leakiest battery brand in my experience. Will never buy another Duraleak battery.

I stack it with the ink recycling. I price match the batteries with Amazon / Home Depot/ Walmart etc and then recycle 10 ink cartridges.
So for $16 out of pocket I get the Duracells and $36 in Rewards to spend on Black Friday.

Nice work! The only thing missing for me was pricing matching! I keep forgetting to do that. But the key thing for me each time to buy these batteries was to see if there were other things I needed at Office Depot/Office Max. So far nothing, and their prices are a little more than other retail stores. I guess I can always buy tape and printer paper

It seems the batteries are $20 after the coupon before taxes
Price Match to Amazon, where the price in the Duracell store is $15.xx for either AA or AAA, 16 pack. With 10-old ink/toner cartridges recycled, you'll receive $35.xx back in store credit. Applause

The 100% rewards didn't complete... seems they only issued half. Calling them to correct it. Hoping to use that for a new laptop.
