Correct. But low-end samsung is considerably worse than mid-range China. A Hisense U6 series is miles better quality image, brightness, software, and HDR. This TV is a 6.9 on RTings. Any of those chinese local dimming TVs are 8.0+. The average buyer would be much better off buying a used Sony/Samsung/LG at this price. It just isn't any better than the Samsung Walmart models.

Not doorbusters but for $50 to $100 more you absolutely will get Local dimming. This model is pretty much a 7 year old TV tech wise. The real deals are always in the last year midrange products while the doorbusters are all like these.

No... game hub is only available on 2022 QLED models and up (Q60B and up).

Meh. You'll see better deals closer to BF. This has no local dimming and while it is a Samsung, it is a low end model without their better displays. Plus, you pay all this for the privilege of ads in your tv. Meh.

The only local dimming TV you would get for $50-100 more in this size would be one of the Chinese brands during Black Friday

Dont have the expectation that you will get Sony/Samsung/LG

The thing about those chinese panels is all of the talk I hear about rebooting and resets needed...Maybe you can expand on that?

Personally, unless it was just a Tv for a kids room playing cartoons, I would look for a clearance 2021 model like the Sony X90J. It should get you down to close to the chinese panels price

While a Tv like the X90 J is not a remarkable Tv in pure performance metrics, you get good black levels, picture processing and something that doesnt need resets/reboots

Worth it to me if its something that you will use for a few years

I have had a few TCLs and replaced an XBR55-700D with a Hisense U6G, zero issues and the picture quality blows it out of the water. The Hisense models have really great reviews that if the issue was widespread would lead to bad reviews.

I would also note that my experience using a Sony Atmos soundbar with the Sony was a mess. Way too smart for its own good and did all kinds of wonky input fiddling and screen flashing. It legitimately works better with the Hisense. The price of a warranty is far cheaper than the price difference and it really seems like Sony pricing just went up. But yes, Chinese midrange or last year high end model is the way to go.
These low end tvs from high end brand are just the same panel as the store brands with a different logo.

Similar experiences... 4 Series TCL that was much better than my Samsung and even integrated better with my Samsung Atmos soundbar. I was dubious as well, but for a cheap TV, I'd lean towards TCL and Hisense before I bought a low end Samsung.

Since we are on topic of Chinese vs premium. My Sony X90CH sucks! I spent a lot of money buying Sony only to figure out that it has a lots of issue (mostly hdmi related) . Because of this I am now watching the tv without a soundbar (it won't play nice with any hdmi device except my PS5). My low budget TCL's in basement and bedroom works fine with my soundbars which apparently is too much to ask from Sony. I will never buy a Sony again. My previous TVs were Samsung and didn't have any issues. So I would say it's not just the brand, the TV series matters as well.

I have never had an issue with Sony TV's
As matter of fact I have a Sony Z9D, X900E and X930E in my home right now
I have had some issues with Samsung...bought a Qn90A and there were spots across the top of the screen. It may have been shipping damage as it was like that out of the box
I did receive a refund and a new unit that seems to be perfect

I have had a Vizio M series die and a Vizio P series I bought for my mother died as well
Both the one that died on me and hers were under the Best Buy Geek Squad warranty so I received full refund on both
I bought her a Sony X950G to replace the dead Vizio P series and all seems good

She also has a Samsung KS8000 that has been going strong since 2016

When you get into what plays nice with accessories that a whole other conversation
I cannot get my mother's Yamaha receiver to play nice with the samsung 4K player and Samsung TV

Ditto with my situation...I cant get the Samsung TV and Denon AVR to play nice with a Roku but its fine with an Apple TV

My main viewing scenario with an LG OLED, Marantz pre/pro plays nice with anything I throw at it..Panasonic 4K player, Roku or Apple TV

Every person I know talking about Hisense has had it die just after warranty. I wouldn't touch that brand with a 10 ft. pole.

Look for open box previous gen Samsung or Sony. You can get much better tvs in this price range.
