Yes. These are good for near field. You'l need to be close to walls else bass will be thin. Also these only have only ok bass .These don't go below 45-50hz. Just thought of sharing as some reviews mention amazing bass on these which is not true.

It's going to be a subtle difference. The KEFs are better built and have less characterization from the cabinet. The uni-q driver makes a difference depending on how far your MLP is and what you are watching; which brings me to suggest that you try these out and compare with jamos as a stereo pair rather than in your 5.1 where the center will carry the most load.
The KEFs are also rear ported as opposed to the front port of the jamos, so placement from the wall matters more here than with the jamos.

I have mine on Kanto S6s angling down for Atmos heights sitting on a ledge over the LRs. They work perfectly and feel solid.
Definitely not cheap. Mine are in use as Atmos heights and I wish they were closer so the cabinet could be appreciated more.
