I use these for my PC. Works well nearfield but more so because you can flip these on their side with no issues because of the concentric driver. I did, however, have to plug the ports in the back since it was close to the wall.

Yes. These are good for near field. You'l need to be close to walls else bass will be thin. Also these only have only ok bass .These don't go below 45-50hz. Just thought of sharing as some reviews mention amazing bass on these which is not true.

My main complaint here is the cabinet, for the price they really shouldn't have to skimp on the cabinet so much. the inside is bare, very little stuffing. etc.

Don't the speakers have a much bigger footprint than the Kanto 9" top plate? I figured I'd have to go with the Kanto 6" or something else entirely.

Nice bookshelf speakers. I have a pair and am impressed with their sound. Note; while the ads show grills included, I believe that is a misprint. I bought these last time on sale and grills were not included. Grills are 19.95 EACH! Not for a pair. 😞

Would these an upgrade over my Infinity R162s?

Just bought a pair of the brown ones from Amazon $299 also. Gonna see how they compare to my Jamo S803. I have the Jamo S803 HCS system with a SVS SB1000 and it's awesome. I doubt these will impress me to the point of switching out the front L and R Jamo but we'll see.

It's going to be a subtle difference. The KEFs are better built and have less characterization from the cabinet. The uni-q driver makes a difference depending on how far your MLP is and what you are watching; which brings me to suggest that you try these out and compare with jamos as a stereo pair rather than in your 5.1 where the center will carry the most load.

The KEFs are also rear ported as opposed to the front port of the jamos, so placement from the wall matters more here than with the jamos.

Good luck and share your thoughts too.

silver schiit stack -> silver cambridge axr100; svs pb2000

I have mine on Kanto S6s angling down for Atmos heights sitting on a ledge over the LRs. They work perfectly and feel solid.

What do you use to angle them? Foam wedges?

How does the white look in person? Tempted to get the white but worried it might look cheap.

Definitely not cheap. Mine are in use as Atmos heights and I wish they were closer so the cabinet could be appreciated more.

Great speakers at the price. I have them as fronts for a home theater setup. Plugging the ports shortens the lower range a bit, but I think they still sound great paired with a decent subwoofer

I bought an extra pair and used just one as a center. It's been great and totally worth it. They work perfectly laid on their side.
What are you using to power that system, an AVR or something else? I'm considering something like that for computer, where I feel going with a large AVR would be overkill.

It's personal preference really. I used both of these at my desk. The KEFs have better imaging and clarity, but the R162s projected a bigger, fuller wall of sound which I preferred. So it may or may not be an upgrade depending on the sound you're looking for.
