Seems like a small upgrade over it for $150 more. If this had 16gb of ram already installed but this to me is not a Slickdeals

Based on the reviews
Pros of Asus vs Lenovo:

MUX switch - will enable GSync on your supported external monitor
Better CPU, RAM, more SSD storage
Higher GPU TGP (95 vs 85w)
Laptop itself is a bit lighter, but the power adapter is heavier
Summary: this will be a better machine if you plan to hook it up your monitor most of the time

Pros of Lenovo vs Asus:

Cheaper
Better built-in display
Runs cool and quieter
Summary: better choice if you plan to do 1080p gaming on the laptop itself and you need to bring it along with you

Was thinking the same thing as I bought the Lenovo already.. this doesn't appear to have USB4 so not really feeling like the 6800H and 144hz (vs 120hz) is really worth an extra $150 overall.. That and my Lenovo unit has really quiet fans during gaming and they are completely silent doing anything anything.. Not sure i'd risk a louder/obnoxious machine just for a better CPU.

Open Box Excellent (vs New) brings it closer though I think the more modern cpu (6800h vs 5600h), ram (ddr4 vs ddr5), storage (256vs 512) and better screen (144hz) makes it slightly more future proof. I'll try one and see how it goes

Interesting that they would ship this with 1x8GB and some people will inevitably use it like that without upgrading. Are there not any 4 GB DDR5 SO-DIMMs in production?

probably not, plus with the built in double data rate spec not sure if it would be worthwhile cuz it would be like making 2 gb chips for the pcb, so the 8gb sticks probably have 4 gb chips on it

granted this is my hypothesis on what i know about the ddr5 spec

I own it. And the display is actually not bad. The cheaper F15 model with the 11400H and 3050 has an even cheaper panel. I've compared.
