At this price, it should have a 3060. This isn't a very slick deal.

Inflation is mostly just higher corporate profits and the chip shortage has been over for most of the year. We're still getting milked because we've gotten used to the high prices.

Always astounds me when people just repeat what late night "comedians" tell them.

I have the same exact one. Bought it for this price, from this seller, back in May. Love it.

It's been forever, how is the Best Buy return policy on open laptops? Do they put you through the ringer?

As an engineer working at a chip company I can assure you, inflation and mounting manufacturing cost are real. Tsmc have increased prices by 30 on existing nodes in the last year and new nodes have even higher base prices.

How much does that manufacturing cost increase contribute to the total BOM?

Alot, it's not just the 30% on one good but also the risk of that across the whole product. You probably don't care if you have to sit on some 100$ that's now 130$. But when you have a million of them to sell and you have to budget for the current cost and the expectation that the parts will increase in cost to produce while they are waiting for them to arrive. Ya an additional 20% on top of that starts to seem logical as a business. Your right some companies are exploiting you. The price of gas shouldn't change daily but it does and even those not exploiting you have to pay that too.
