I agree. Even if it's a better value, I think it makes more sense to get the individual stories so they can carry around the books and try reading them themselves or bringing them to you. Even turning the pages and keeping it on the current page is harder with these bigger volume books.

These books are great for early readers. They reinforce words by having the characters repeat them in different ways. I would say that they're perfect for early-to-late first grade or right after kindergarten, if they're early readers.

My kids (8 & 4) LOVE these! My 8yo dressed up like the elephant & read a couple of stories to my 4yo's class. This is a great price!

Great books! We started reading them to her at age 3. She started to read herself (mainly memorizing) at age 4 and then the entirely on her own by the time she was 5. Not difficult words so it helped her sound them out and build self confidence.

Great price! We have both of these or would buy them without hesitating. Can also get at library but they go quickly if not reserving ahead of time. There are spin off's to Gerald & Piggy too.
