FWIW, Costco have the 100' sets of the 5" and 6" for $150 and $185, respectively.

And they're even cheaper in store, I can't remember the exact price but I think $120-140 for the 5".

These micromesh gutter guards have the best reviews for most people. Home depot sells a brush that you can attach to an extension pole and wipe them off from the ground if they get covered occasionally and never have to climb up on a ladder again to clean them.

I used to have those porous foam inserts in my gutter. They clogged after a couple years and became a nightmare to clean. For me, I just bought a hose attachment for cleaning gutters. No more of these stupid gutter guards.

Do these work well?

I don't see how pine needles won't just sit on top of these and still need to be cleaned off.

Was researching these and many people complained that if there is something on top of them and it's just laying there, the water just runs right over the side.

They seemed to work for alot of people, but there were some complaints. They still have to be brushed off from time to time or this can happen.

This or the Costco option is much better than the LeafFilter high pressure sales scam.

They all work to varying degrees but these things aren't what they appear to be. Depending on your location you may encounter a variety of problems. Debris still gets caught in mine and silt still settles into the gutter. Over time this will need to be cleaned out which is a giant pain. If you don't clean them your gutters will eventually clog with silt and vegetation. There is no free lunch and these things are not the gutter panacea.

The fine mesh will eventually glog with debris. Do your research. Option... Amazon: LeafTek DIY Gutter Guards | 5" x 100' of Leaf Protection in Black | Premium Contractor Grade 35 Year Aluminum Covers | Available in 32', 100' & 200' Packages | 5 or 6 Inch | Made in The USA
$174 for 100 ft. 35 year warranty. I've put these on 2 homes. Great product.

In my experience, leaves and needles are not the worst enemy. The snow is. A little of wet snow followed by overnight freeze and you lost your gutters till spring.

Even without snow rain and pollen creates a paste that clogs corners from experience. I have gutter/lead guards. Although it's better than the alternative of not having them it's not maintenance free. Instead of cleaning x times per year you may be cleaning them x/2 per year and if you're lucky x/3.

The breeze or wind blows most stuff from the top the real payoff is it's not setting in gutter to worry about really worth it unless a gutter cleaning party is on schedule

I don't have pine needles, but they are fantastic with my oak tree leaves.

Don't buy the brush right away. As an offer to register mine for warranty the company provided a free brush. YMMV but low risk in waiting.

Omg thank you for saying this. My dad almost got scammed by these guys. I had to step in and put a stop to that.

I've seen some reviews of different gutter guards and I was surprised by this one, not so much in a positive way, because of the grooves in the mesh, they become traps for larger granules from the roof and other debris that will land on the roof. Even with one of those brushes, you would have trouble cleaning out those grooves if they ever get full of granules
