I got the email yesterday with the $45 shop card. Paid with Visa, didn't turn off auto-renewal until I received the email. Great deal, ty again OP

Costco support chat confirmed the code is valid and that you will receive a shop card, however because she didn't work in membership she wasn't able to see how much it was for (membership dept is closed at the moment). I also found this page: https://clarkdeals.com/deal/costc...embership/

Which states the same as the OP, but also gives an expiry date of Jan 1 2023.

It's under the payment window

"If you are purchasing this membership with a Visa card, you agree that your Costco membership fee will automatically renew at the membership price you've selected and be charged to your selected credit card annually on the first day of your renewal month until you choose a different form of payment or cancel your Costco membership. View additional terms and details.
If you are using a different form of payment, you can set up Auto Renew after the purchase."

Once you get shop card, immediately log back in and turn OFF auto renew. That flags system to send you out marketing communication (normally on monthly flyer) to renew with $20 off for 2024 via in store.

I applied for the membership on 11/06, got the $45 gift card today via e-mail. I need to print it out if want to use it in physical store. It also allows you to save it on your smartphone, so you don't need a printout.

thanks for the heads up I just searched my email and got my $45 one too!! it's a e gift card from Costco. It came in 3 hours ago from [email protected]

What email client are you using? My Spark client also marked it as spam and the email wouldn't open. The subject sounded fishy to me. It was something like Your Costco Digital Card is here. Which I thought was really a spam so I deleted it😅 Costco will send me another one they said, hopefully!

Do you have to activate a new membership purchased online in a store before making an online purchase? I'd like to shop online but the closest store is a couple hours away.

I'm using Outlook. I've seen Outlook marking a lot of non-spam emails that way.

Good that Costco is resending you the card.

Anyone use a MasterCard and have received the GC? When I go through the steps on Costco.com, I don't see limiting language that you must use a VISA.

I'm a Citigold member and have a free membership offer but must use the Citi debit card which is a MasterCard.

Yes and yes (follow the instructions with your email and auto renewal). Then as long as you see a one cent discount after you apply the promo code that confirms your eligibility and you should receive the $45 gift card via email.
