Walmart isn't trying to sell TV's, they're selling W+ memberships. I was gullible too, and paid for the membership, and thought I'd get a TV...at 12 noon, in the middle of the day, when MILLIONS of people were watching this highly promoted sale. Nope. Instead, I got the 55" from another SD post for Target for $199 on Sat night at 2am. Already have the TV in hand. That thread is full of positive experiences.
Granted, one guy said he went into the physical Walmart, and at noon they price matched the TV with the online price, and he walked out with it. Might be the way to go. Otherwise, don't get your hopes up. Another "deal" at noon that sounds "too good to be true".... Fool me once... Just my 2 cents.

However, I've been reading reviews on the TCL 55S455 which looks identical to this in every spec, including look, exact measurements, and weight, and it seems that the 55S455 does not even have any motion smoothing at all.
So that is why I am asking if anyone can confirm that the 55S41 either has no motion-smoothing, or that it can be turned off.
Granted, I still stand by my earlier comments that the first W+ TV offers were a sh*tshow of bait and switch, but hopefully they have learned. If this TV actually gets delivered, I may keep my W+ membership....maybe. They lost a lot of trust, but maybe they can get some back. Just thought I'd update the thread.
Sorry if my last post was confusing.
Well, isn't that crazy? It shows add to cart button, I can add to cart, and it lets me get all the way to place order then says it's sold out. But I think I could check out if it was pick up at the store, though the nearest store is 3 hours away from me. Maybe they decided to stop offering shipping.

I'm also using an onn 4k Android TV box which was $20 and works fine. Pays for itself after 2 months of cancelling YouTube premium

Motion smoothing technologies and SOE don't really come into play with TVs that have refresh rates of 60Hz or lower. It wasn't until all the 120Hz models started coming out that people really started complaining and started trying to figure out how to turn off all the motion interpolation features.
Best I can tell all of these low end TCL TVs are native 60Hz, but use various "tricks" to try to get to a "perceived" 120Hz. TCL calls their technology Clear Motion Index (CMI), and will advertise that at 120 while trying to hide the fact that the TV is really only 60Hz.
Because it is truly a 60Hz model, there normally wouldn't be any SOE, but because of their CMI trickery it does *sometimes* create an effect. They don't give any options to disable this, likely because they don't think it needs anything because it isn't doing really high end interpolation.
All I can tell you is that I'm the guy that always goes over to people's houses and says "ugh...you've got SOE going on" and I try to show them how to turn off the motion features because I absolutely hate it. Even my wife who is fairly sensitive to it, and also dislikes it can't notice it like I do. When we go places and I tell her I notice it, she says she doesn't and then I prove to her that it was on by toggling the options.
So, for what it is worth - I can tell when a TV has it enabled, and I hate it. But, with this TV I did not notice it at all really in the first few days/week that I was testing it. It is few and far between when I see a scene where it really looks SOE to me and even then it is usually fleeting.
Now, just like any 2 TVs, if you put it right up against another TV with all smoothing truly turned off you might notice a difference, but I never use that comparison because if you always put your TV against another you'd always see how much better the other TV is (if you buy budget TVs).
I live with this as my daily driver and am very rarely bothered by any SOE. In fact I wouldn't even say I'm bothered at all by it, I just occasionally see a scene that brings out something that I equate to motion smoothing.
I wouldn't let this be the make or break for you without trying it. If this is in your price range and you can get one, I say get it and try it. I can't believe you will be more sensitive and adverse to the effect then I am - but to each their own.
