Wish there was a 38" OLED monitor

The 38" is in a different league over the 34". I had a number of 34" AW's over the years and for the past 2 I've had the Alienware 38". I even mounted the new LG 42" OLED on the wall and wound up returning it and sticking with the 38".

How do y'all think this compares to the 49" LG monitor that's on sale for $1000?
Well, that one's back to $1197.

Going to drop this next to a 43" 4k and see how it looks. Hope my neck doesn't get sore!
I'm still debating between the two choices. Let me know how you like them when comparing side by side if you would please. Which 43 do you have? I've been eyeing the asus for a while but haven't got a chance to see one in person yet.

This was on sale at Costco for $800 not very long ago
I have found no history of this ever dipping below $1100 from any retailer. It was recently on sale from Costco for $1100, not $800. Please provide a link if I'm missing something.

That's what I was trying to convey. I'd be using this for gaming and single window and prefer the shape and resolution. In an office setting, or even mixed use, the 49" is probably the way to go.
I realize you're comparing you 1600p, but 4k has been thrown around in this thread as well. Maybe 49" is better for some, or even most. For me, 4k and 2160p allows me to stack two windows on top of each other while still being usable. 1440p, not so much. IMO there's no replacement for vertical resolution, but everyone is different, and there are lots of different use cases.

I've had this monitor, from this seller, for five days now. No dead pixels. Seemed basically brand new. You definitely want to give it a good check if you buy one though. Open box is always a bigger risk. But I took comfort in 30 day returns, 1 year warranty, & 99.9% rated seller.
It is an absolute joy to work on during the day and game on at night. Upgraded from 2 x 32" VA panels. I plan to put one of the 32" monitors next to it, vertically.

This monitor was never $800 at Costco or anywhere else. He's mistaken. If I didn't have my AW 38 I would have bought this instantly but LG stinks with their 1 year warranty's.

i bought this full price earlier this year and i love it. perfect for games and productivity. since i work and play at the same desk. i agree with the earlier comment about wanting an OLED version of this. hoping for that in the near future is the only thing holding me back from getting this good deal. but no real evidence of that oled coming for me yet…

I just bought this last month on sale for $1100 at Costco and it's amazing for gaming. 165hz and HDR is outstanding. IPS screens are where it's at for gaming. The 49" is not worth it for gaming, non existent curvature you can say and only 144hz. At 49" you want a deep curv

FP sure has gone downhill... Old processors, refurbished hard drives, open box monitors sheesh quite a glut resulted from those jetwashed GPU by the pound street vendors.

You're both right, I realize I was mixing it up with another one looking at it again. Apologies to all, will fix it now.

This was $999 at my local Costco the other week but has since gone back to the normal price.
