Yes, I could get some new larger drives, use more M.2, etc, but that just adds to the difficulty of changing over.

I just got the 12700k combo to improve my Handbrake encoding speed. I'm expecting an 80% increase in encoding speed over the 3700x. That should put it pretty close to my NVEncode times.

EDIT: I can't resist a good deal. I have my reservation in for this Combo. I guess I'll be doing some drive upgrades to reduce my SATA load to 4...

NVEnc is 2-3X faster....but....file sizes end up 2 - 10X larger with similar quality.
With the 12700K I should get close to NVEnc speed but keep quality. That's my hope once I finally assemble anyway.
I'm also like you with upgrades...don't always need them...don't do them regularly...but when a deal presents itself...buy it and sell the last gen quick!

I didn't prefer tuf because audio chip and location of 2 Sata ports.
