Closest Microcenter to me is about 4 hours away. I cry myself to sleep every time I see awesome deals at their store. I plan to make a field trip there some day.

Just picked mine up at the Marietta store. Tons of them on the shelf and even more in the pickup area.

My only regret is that it's not a 13600k + mobo offer.

What cooler are folks using with this?

I ordered a Scythe Fuma 2. The noctua is a bit too big for the case I want to use.

No plans of overclocking. If anything will undervolt.

Just drop in a 5800X3D. It's matching (or beating) all the new processors in games. This system is gimped by the DDR4 memory. Not saying it's a bad deal. The price is good for what it is, but for your case I would either upgrade your AM4 processor or go next gen.
Was a tie with 12900k, 13700k and 13900k both faster.

But you are correct that is the cheapest way to get a faster gaming cpu.

It depends how powerful the cooler is. If it is powerful enough, you can purchase a mount kit to reuse it.

FYI I had flip a setting in BIOS to have the iGPU show up along side my graphics card. Then In Windows I had to use the System -> Display -> Graphics interface to force programs to the use the iGPU. This was in Win11 but I think it's also in recent Win10.
Thanks for the tip. I'll have to see whether or not my mobo has that option or not. Right now, I'm in the middle of a build but I decided to switch to a different PC case so everything is discombobulated and I can't test anything at the moment.

Asus has a ME update for this board dated 9/2022. Something to flash or skip? Benefits of flashing this?

To anyone seeing the COMBO listing as out of stock, you can add the motherboard and CPU separately (if they're both in stock) and the price of the motherboard will drop to $0.01... just make sure it's the DDR4 version of the board (they stock both the DDR4 and DDR5 versions and they look identical).

I built a computer about 20 years ago, and like to build one again. My knowledge is outdated. Can anybody help with the following questions:

1. What is the cheapest way to get a Windows / Office license?
2. Any deal recommendations on case, power supply, and ddr4. Simple ones would be fine, I don't anything fancy, I don't play any games. It is for browsing internet, light programing, and office,

Thank you.

^^

1) Google, ebay....

2) I imagine a 500w (or greater) power supply should be sufficient for this board/cpu. You mention no games, no that means no video card, onboard igpu only?

Case - world is your oister. This board is an atx form factor.

Cheap ram - teamgroup seems to be decent unless you find a name brand on sale - crucial, gskil, kingston, etc. I recommend at least 16GB. Set aside 1-2GB for a ramdisk to use for browser cache.

Do get yourself an ssd - for your use case, even sata would work.

Some manufacturers do offer free adapters, like Noctua. So best to google your specific cooler to find out. I actually considered reusing my Noctua NH-D14 but Noctua took like 3 weeks to get me an adapter so I got a Deepcool AK620 for like $43 after tax instead. I guess my kid will get my NH-D14 in his Minecraft rig lol

Deepcool AK620 here. Used a $25 build coupon to bring it down to $43 from MC.

How does the deepcool ak620 fit on the mobo? Is there enough clearance for ram and the vrm heatsink?

I am planning to pick this cooler up today but wondering if I need to get some low profile ram or I'll have an issue fitting the cooler with this mobo.
