I thought Dyson was a gimmick until my brother told me to vacuum my living room carpet with my $100 Hoover, then he turned on his 1st gen Dyson and the amount of dirty it picked up was like I haven't vacuumed in about a year..

Saved up and bought a Dyson after awhile..

Thanks for coming to my TEDtalk

Have purchased many vacuums for myself and family members over many years. General theme - just get a Dyson Ball Upright (always on sale for $200 New....or get a Refurb from Dyson that looks 95% New for $130) or get a Shark Rotator (usually $150 new). Own 3 Dyson's and 2 Sharks - and even after many years of abuse, the suction is as good as day-1. All the Bissell's and Hoovers I've ever bought are trash - there's always something breaking off, and the suction is atrocious after 6 months.

I've been looking at this one that is a little cheaper on Walmart. It doesn't have the HEPA filter though. https://www.walmart.com/ip/seort/672388349

Did a cursory search for Dyson refurbished, finding nothing remotely in the ballpark of $130. Would you please be more specific as I'd like to go the route you suggest?

If you're shocked by that, get a Shark Duo vacuum and see how much more stuff you suck up.

To me, Hoover is the bargain brand. You get what u pay for and for $60 your expectations should not be very high. It'll get the job done, upgrade later if u need.

What you guys think about this offer? I bought it last year for $45

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Eureka.../381568816

I bought it mainly because it's lightweight.
