The Mentalist and Criminal Minds are both great deals and both worth watching more then once over a period of time. I just wish Movies anywhere would tie in tv series also. Big thanks to the poster.
Vudu is now owned by Comcast, another very large company (market cap 134 billion dollars). I think Vudu is large enough to survive and prosper under any ownership. You are correct in saying "not much has changed." That's a good thing!!
On Vudu purchases, I recommend buying their gift cards first, because their site ALWAYS offers a discount code of 10% or more with minimum purchase. This month, it's 10% off with a minimum of $60 gift card purchase; code: VUDUNOV22 https://www.vudu.com/gift-cards

324 episodes of an hour long series (Criminal Minds) for $40? I'll bite on that, even though it's on a constant basic cable marathon at least a couple days a week.
Though I cannot figure out for the life of me why I like the show? Only on CBS do highly-specialized law enforcement professionals like profilers or forensics people kick in doors and make high-risk arrests. I call it the JAG effect (on which attorneys who happened to be in the military also flew fighter jets)...and what's with hackers who have access to blueprints of buildings constructed decades ago...(rant interrupted)

It's a great deal. Just not sure how reliable vudu is. Walmart decided to sell it to fandango and since then, not much has changed.
Vudu has survived for a very long time so I think the risk is low. Will these things go away some day? Sure but for the price you can't beat the value as long as it is something you plan on watching.

Stadia.
Anyway, I still buy Vudu stuff but have dramatically ramped down. "Nothing much has changed" would be fine if the app wasn't abysmal (on every platform).
Relevant to this deal - I've found binging shows on Vudu to not be very smooth. It's easy to lose your place, it doesn't always auto-play or continue to the correct episode, and will often start in the middle of an episode. I've had this happen on iPad OS and a couple different TVs (Sony and Fire).
5 years ago Vudu was the best option - it had the most integrations with sharing services. Now that's mostly moot. (It also has almost the exact same app as back then too.)
And, unlike Stadia, if NBC Universal / Warner Bros shut it down... we ain't getting refunds.

Oh, er, right. Pretty good deal.
Don't get me started. I think I sort of hurt my wife's enjoyment of this show because I keep making fun if things like this.

The fundamental issue is the culture, specifically the business culture of our society. These people have no scruples to keep making our movies available to us once the platforms aren't making as much money as they want. They will probably find a way to screw us.

First let me say my only connection with Vudu is that I use that service virtually everyday and have purchased a ton of content there.
Regarding the comment about Stadia. Yes that was shut down by Google, but everyone received a refund. Stadia had maybe 1, maybe 2 million users, not enough of which were active. Vudu has more than 60 million users. It will remain a valuable property.
Regarding the comment about Apple: Yes, Apple is the largest company in the world, but they shut down LaLa music (which I loved). Everyone did receive a refund.
Regarding the Vudu interface: Yes, there are problems, but Vudu is the easiest service where I have found I can watch a TV partway, then access that show a year or more later and most easily find where I left off. The trick for TV shows is to let the next episode play for 10 seconds or so before exiting the app. Vudu also has a useful "jump to scene" feature.
I jumped on this deal—my first on VUDU. While watching a few episodes of the mentalist, I had the "buffering" screen a few times. I have a 50+ Mbps internet service and never had any trouble with Apple TV, Amazon, or MoviesAnywhere (watching 4K movies). I am running the Samsung Tizen app. Is this a problem with VUDU or my setup? The show looked great in HDX but the buffering screen is annoying.

The steaming console (or tv) makes a very big difference… since the app is not a optimized as Netflix .. slow (or old) processors sometimes have issues with newer versions of the apps
