It would be awesome if they figured out how to put better upfiring speakers in these things. I know it would make them a few grams heavier, but it would be worth it, IMO.
2 months of leaving a laptop on and you are surprised only 2% remaining?
Perhaps turn it off next time?

Have the i7 from a previous open box deal. love it. only issue I've had is the thermal throttling. however, the only time I've experienced it was when charging with a non-oem (hp actually) 65w USB c charger. It was odd as 65w is the proper wattage, but haven't been able to test the Gram with other non oem chargers.

we'll see how it is in the summer when temps rise, cause the thermal throttling from this thing is brutal

Dumb question but how can you tell when it's being throttled?

If it is noticeably hot and your computer slows down

The lightness of the computer is great, but I need a bright screen with a touch screen option for me. Anyone test being able to read this in direct sunlight?

Agree 10000000000%. It's my only true complaint about the device. The speakers are just horrible

I have the 2021 14" 1080p model which I got at BuyDig for $999 around April. I got this laptop specifically for backpacking around the world for several months and being able to use Lightroom & Photoshop efficiently. It suits my needs quite well. Note, however, that the screen is actually quite dim even on the highest setting, and the glare makes it difficult to see (especially when you're outside in natural light).

As someone else mentioned, the speakers--by default--are not loud at all even on the maximum settings. However, I fixed that problem by downloading Equalizer APO (a free app), which can boost the volume to, I believe, 200% higher than the default. It works great and now even the loudest setting is too loud!

I think the 17" could be a great laptop if you want higher screen resolution while compromising slightly on weight and performance. Regardless, if ultra lightweight is your main priority, then the LG series might be a good choice.

The 2022 Gram models all changed to matte screens, which works better in the sunlight at the same brightness.

My wife got the LG Gram 16" but personally I am too used to a touchscreen so I went with the 2-in-1 version which is half a pound heavier but with a touchscreen (I assume because of the glass digitizer). I do wish they would use up some of that interior space to (pick one): improve speakers, transfer heat, and/or increase the battery size. A slot for the digitizer pen would have been nice too!

Has there been a post regarding this? I'm willing to wait.

edit: looks like the same price with an I7 vs this deal being an i5. so a better deal but not cheaper. darn. https://www.costco.com/black-friday.html halfway down on the right side.
