I think that's a small typo on the 17" 512TB SSD Smilie

Also in for a 16". That is a great price for 12th gen chip and 16gb ddr5.

I'm curious why LG produces both a 15.6 and a 16 inch version? Any ideas?
Costco has the 15.6 version with the same processor, storage, and memory, but adds a touch screen.

you answered your own q Smilie. i think 15.6" in touchscreen and 16" is not.. I also believe (i didnt check) the 15.6" is 1080p and 16" is 1440p.

Good price, but I see many reviewers saying they run a little hot.

I thought that was mainly on the i7 versions. I bought this one because i5-1240P should be plenty fast for my coding needs.

You're right. The 15.6" is 16:9, and the 16" is 16:10. That said, they do make a 16" touch screen, though it's the convertible model, and it weights a bit more. I don't see any reason they couldn't put a touch panel in the non-convertible 16" body. With all the shift to 16:10 panels, I'd be surprised if LG doesn't discontinue the 15.6" model sooner rather than later.

I've owned like every iteration of these things over the years. IMHO, for office productivity, the 16" is the best mix of size and weight. Typing on one now. It has more screen real estate and a higher resolution than the 14" model, along with a slightly larger battery (which admittedly may even out due to the larger screen). But it's still crazily light at like 2.6 lbs versus 2.2 lbs for the 14".

Stepping up to the 17", you get a bit larger screen, which is nice. But it also starts to get a bit unwieldy in cramped situations like an airplane, and the weight increases to nearly 3 lbs. (again, fantastically light for the size, but it's a noticeable increase from the 17"). Otherwise, the screen resolution and battery are the same as the 16", so I'd have to imagine the 16" gets a bit better battery life.

Just my unsolicited 2 cents.

My next question though: how long until the 16" LG Gram Style gets put on sale? I love that OLED screen, but I'm not paying an extra $1,000 just for that. At like $1,200 or $1,300, I'd bite.

Great laptop but mine RARELY GOES to sleep when lid is closed. It is literally broken. I have to shut down every time or risk it dying in my bag

I have the 14 now and will return it when I find a replacement. This Costco version has a 720p cam and I'd like a larger screen. The 16 sounds like the sweet spot, but it's too bad it has the number pad. I've never been in a situation or job where I needed to use a number pad. It puts the rest of the keyboard off center.

Question, do you accidentally click on things with the trackpad as you type?

Quick question, does your 16" come with a fingerprint reader under the power button? Reason I ask is that it says "no" on the LG website, but I don't see why they would omit that?

Great idea! Are these external Thunderbolt 4 GPUs as fast as internal ones?
