I'm afraid that might be about as close to $125 as we get in the near term if ever. The cost to build motherboards and many other PC components has gone up 15-20%. That said, I would not want to build a low end AM5 system right now. I am looking to build one with and have budgeted $200-$230 for the motherboard. I like the features on the B650M Aorus Elite AX and B650 Aorus Elite AX for $190 and $220 on Newegg.

Do I need to add the DDR5 RAM to the cart to make the deal work? The link seemingly has only the motherboard.

I am about to rebuild my system and looking at the AMD 7700 and a AM5 MB guessing the x670e motherboards, I am trying to find a review on what's a good motherboard and didn't find much, toms has so much junk now a days, I miss hardOCP... I am looking at the ASRock X670E Steel Legend, amazon review is bad and newegg has it at 4.5 stars.

Not to Necro this but this is exactly what I'm running into. Most x670E have little to no reviews, but one site will have 5 stars and another it'll have 1

I follow a YouTuber named Buildzoid who seems to know his stuff with regards to motherboards and RAM. He is a bit strange and long winded but worth it to get good info IMO.

Here is a link to a video he did on Gigabyte AM5 motherboards. Link [youtu.be]

Based on the info that I have gathered there does not seem to be much benefit to get anything but a B650 unless you are a serious overclocker. I have paired a 7700X with the Gigabyte B650 Aorus Elite AX. I went with that based on the PCIE 5.0 M.2 slot (for future expansion) and having 3 x M.2 slots. If one only needs 2 x M.2 slots you could go with the MATX board instead -- B650M Aorus Elite AX.

Looks like he is more into overclocking than a good old What's a good pairing of CPU+MB+Memory....

I am looking at the x670e MB + AMD 7700 and DDR5 Memory, something that works Smilie
