Two previous threads have a lot of good info. Search Mint for the posts.
Summary:
The phone is UNLOCKED (I bought it and activated with my existing plan).
The plan is NOT tied to the phone or your name. You can use it for other family member (I did) or sell it.
You must activate the plan in 45 days after purchase.
If don't port in a number, you only get 6 months service.
One person reported switching to Fi from Mint and immediately port it back and getting 12 months.
Some people say you can port in Google Voice number by paying $3 to Google.
You CANNOT cancel the plan only and keep the phone (some tried but was told to cancel the whole purchase or none).
Some people have AMEX offer of $45 off $90 (I used it and got confirmation email from Amex immediately).
You may find referral code to get $15 (I did not use it).
You can use Cash Back site to get some extra dollars back. Ex. urlhasbeenblocked $5 back (It worked for me).
To find the deal manually, go to https://www.mintmobile.com/, click top menu Phone - Deals.
It's unlocked, many (including myself) have bought this deal and confirmed
Every time this gets posted that it's restocked I get tempted but I really don't want the Pro version. I would much prefer the size of the regular Pixel 7, I've been hoping they would offer a similar deal for the Pixel 7 but it does not appear that will be happening.

You need to use the old phone. I keep Google Photos backup off on my new phone, but sync the camera folder to my old phone using the free app Syncthing, which is installed on both devices. It took some messing with the settings of that app but works pretty flawlessly and all my photos and videos are backed up in the cloud in high quality for free and all the stuff like Faces and AI recognition works too Smilie
That's fantastic. Thanks for the detailed response. I'll try this when I get the new phone. Is there an app that does something similar for IOS devices? Transfer photos from iPhone to Pixel?

As long as Ryan Reynolds now owns the company, you really can't go wrong. He's changing the way we buy cellular. This company is legit.

Try Feem v4. I use this app to transfer pictures from a friend's iphone to my android phone as well as backup said pics to my windows laptop.

For those can handle spectrum (verizon) mobile, they have the spectrum one bundle that's internet 300Mbps and mobile plan for $50 a month for 12 months. They also have the Pixel 7 pro for $500 (I did a trade in and will get another $100 off). They wouldn't give me the bundle since I'm already a customer, but they offered me a free 12 month unlimited mobile plan. So I bought the pixel 7 pro with tax it's $547 hopefully get my $100 trade in and then I save a minimum of $180 a year on phone plan. I almost went with the Mint plan of since I used them before and with Tmobile now, but this sweet deal with Verizon is reliable in my area.
Ngl I'm a little pissed off I couldn't get the 12 months free like you did. I tried everything on the phone to at least have them give me the additional free line. No dice. I've been a spectrum mobile customer for about 2 and a half years.
EDIT: Now that I think about it maybe it's because I was already a spectrum mobile customer, not just spectrum internet like you. Either way it's annoying when existing customers get the shaft so they can jingle shiny deals to new customers, but that's everyone.

Worked in Flushing, NYC BB today using my unlocked S21. Employee was super friendly throughout the whole process.

Rego Park BB not playing nicely, in line with the majority of the NYC experiencs in this thread. Employee will gaslight you into doing a locked carrier IMEI check and not take the phone even after told it's unlocked, and says they won't take phones that have history of being traded in before.

Shame the 256 gb s22+'s are all sold out, so went for a 128 gb instead

the google pixel 7 pro unlocked is 799 (749 during black friday deals). This deal still saves ~$200 on it. Any catch that i am missing?

You cannot trade in. You cannot choose color or storage. You need to think how to use that 12-month service. Other than that it's the best deal for pixel 7 pro this year. What are you waiting for? I bought it and enjoy the phone.

I need to switch from Boost and I need a new phone as my S9+ screen is cracked.

Was going to switch to Fi and get an S22 or Pixel 7/7 Pro. But this deal seems really good.
The Fi plans have more data (@35 GB/person) and would be $20/mo per line (as would have 5 lines with Fi.

With mint would be 3 lines but does not seem to matter as no discounts with more lines.

If I go with the 10gb mint plan it should be enough for me. I have no idea how much data I use. I could get two other 4GB plans for $90/6mo and then $180 for next 6mo. So $890/year with 7 pro.

Fi be $1020 with S22 or $1120 w/ P7 or $1420 with 7pro for year. No matter what mint is cheaper except

Fi seems to offer better deals on cheap phones for kids. Like $50 for moto G power. Where mint does not have as good of deals so have to find a phone that is compatible. I guess can buy one phone as will being A71 5g.

Just wondering if Fi will offer further discount on P7/P7 Pro with service like they are w/o service for BF. As prefer the higher data limits. 35GB on FI vs 4 or 10GB on mint.

Cannot decide what to do.

I used Fi for many years. Google does not discount pixels phones much. Google store Black Friday would be the best you see. You may get extra discount by adding new members with port in numbers . If you are interested in Samsung phones though, early this year Google Fi had fantastic deals for Galaxy S22 preorder though discount, account credit and free upgrade (basically $700 for ultra with 256GB). I expect the same deal for S23 in January. Actually I would wait for it if I could have resisted this deal.

thank you for the response. Happy to know you are enjoying the phone. Understand no choices on color and storage. If i don't port in any number it is still cheaper than an unlocked on google store. Can i use it without the port in ? if yes i will pull the trigger. thank you again for helping.

Yes I activated the phone on my existing Fi account and used the service on another phone in my family. You may sell the service to others on eBay or just ask here. I know some people are interested if you give a good price.

Yes, but you will only get 6 months.
