I'll second this ding on what Amazon has allowed 3rd parties to perpetrate with the Use/S&D label as of late via Amazon Warehouse and woot!. When I buy the woot! versions I have consistently had to buy 2 or 3 to ensure I could pick among phones that had critically bad problems which could never have passed even a reasonable grading system.

An S7 whose home button pops out when turned over? A Pixel for which half the screen had started to pop out of the phone frame... because the battery was starting to bloat? Yeah, all of these were Scratch and Dent rather than Unusable by Anyone Other Than a Phone Repair Shop.

Good luck!

WOW....Mint Mobil's web site:

No phone number to call them.
No email address to email them.
No live chat service to chat with them.

Seems like customer service is not in their vocabulary.
From Mint's Customer Service via chat:

"09:22
All our Androids devices are unlocked if you paid them full."

And

"09:27
When the phone is new it does not have the boot loader locked."

Enjoy fellow SDers 😊

Soooo tempted to get this as a WiFi/general use device. It'd be a bonus if it actually ended up being unlocked.

You can still get a half-decent Pixel 2 scratch and dent from Woot, that suits your purposes, for around $60

That user was isolating his usage to wifi, which doesn't require more expansive sizes. And you are correct in that Woot isn't the best in S&D supplies, but may be the most accessible to this forum.

Same here! Really interested to know the bootloader situation. Haven't bought mobiles from mint before, so I'd also like to know the return policy, should the mobile end up being Verizon variants.

Unlocking policy as many are going to ask. It's still unknown as I'm linking this if this phone comes unlocked.

Return policy for devices is at the bottom of the page. Seems like you can return it within 7 days if unopened without a restocking fee. May have to pay for your own shipping back though.

I guess this could be bought by those feeling nostalgic as the last, best LG phone. This is such a good unit (even with the software fixed at Android 11 patched from the end of last year) that it's almost comical to see it at this price (consider that you're getting access to one of the best phone cameras around... for $100?!?!).

This phone might even do well for many as a daily driver, though I'd want to recommend a newer Pixel if at all possible (the Pixel 3 isn't much spendier, though could be tougher to find new), I just never realized how big the gap was between production and sales for this model that we're still seeing these as new in the secondary market:

Just got a Pixel 3 through Woot and have hesitated to turn it on because I'm reading how to unlock the boot loader. Seems that I need to use my PC and follow directions. I've read that unlocking could make it less secure than keeping it locked.

I know that support for Pixel 2XL and Pixel 3 will soon come to an end. That said, if I don't really know what I'm doing and have never replaced the OS on any of my phones besides just doing OTA updates to higher level Android versions, should I just go ahead and NOT unlock the bootloader (if it's even an option on the phone I received)? I would do as many updates as possible on the ATT system before end of support and then just hope that there are no security issues going forward. I really don't need any operating system newer than Android 10 or 11, whichever of these are currently available on ATT.

Thanks for your assistance.
