its worth paying a bit more and getting a kwikset with smartkey so you can easily rekey it yourself.

My last two electronics locks were Kwikset and they both had problems; One had touchscreen problems after it rained and the other kept beeping the low battery warning even with new alkaline batteries. I wouldn't recommend Kwikset for electronic locks

I bought a kwikset and within 6 months the 6 key burned out. They sent me a replacement for free and I put the old one on my shed hah... Been 3-4 years now and the replacement going strong, but yeah... I agree they seem hit/miss.

That is a great catch. How many people are going to use a deadbolt on an inside door. Apartment dwellers I guess but...

You should always use lithium batteries, they perform much better in electronic locks than alkaline batteries. Especially in cold weather!
