Do you guys think it's generally safer to do ship to store pickup vs ship to home (for items that are not stocked in-store)? With the amount of packages that my local UPS delivery throws around, it seems like the item will be better handled with care doing ship to store pickup. Or is it the same UPS that ends up delivering to the store anyway?
I would honestly say that ship to home would be better. I have personally had multiple ship to store orders cancelled for random reasons (They decided I was a "reseller") and no reason at all.

I tried chatting with a rep to see if they would give me a credit but they denied saying they cannot do a price match on a trade in deal.
Going to try in-store later today..
The only way to accomplish this is to find a helpful BB employee in store willing to track down your trade in coupon and reverse/re-do the second part of the transaction to purchase the new S22 variant at your desired price, etc. This helpful employee will almost certainly be one of those in the mobile department, not general customer care or Geek Squad. The first part of the transaction involving the trade in cannot be undone once the Samsung coupon is generated. You can easily return the previously purchased phone but will lose the trade in unless somebody can track down and reapply your specific trade in coupon.

If you call or chat BB customer care you may eventually find someone who says they have your back and will process a price match refund via gift card but whatever "File #" they give to reference the promised price match will be worthless and disappear from the BB system. Many of us have been promised a gift card for the price match refund but I haven't gotten any of mine. Whether the first time you contact customer care to get a price match or a subsequent follow up to ask where's your promised refund gift card you will eventually be connected to a BB person who reads a script about bundled discounted purchases not being eligible for price match. It doesn't matter if you have the File #, a chat Case #, or screenshots, employee names, etc., someone will read you the script about purchases involving bundled discounts not being eligible for price match. Save yourself time and frustration, just read my cliff notes version here instead of pursuing the price match via traditional route.

I've seen just a couple of people say they were successful in trading in 2 phones to buy 1 phone. Has anyone tried that and failed, or is it actually a thing?

I'm hoping to get an S22 Ultra 512gb so it would be great if I could do that. Thanks!
Wait until black firday pricing comes back and you'll only need one phone. Last week S22U's were $899 ($1099 for 512GB) and that will almost certainly come back for black friday.

Anybody on Sprint Advantage Unlimited plan able to do the T-Mobile/Sprint upgrade fine without messing up their plan? Thinking of trading in my s21 Ultra for the s21+ for the higher trade-in value when the s23 Ultra comes out.

Here is my experience with doing this deal in NYC. The first store closest to my home that I went to yesterday, said their trade in system was down and told me to come back tomorrow. So I went back the next day, and it was still down. Went to another store a mile away, the people there said they didn't take Samsung s21 anymore due to how many people was trading them in and even showed their screen to me. They said that this is true for other store as well. I was thinking hmm maybe I am too late to the deal but decided to check back to this thread and didn't see anyone mentioning this problem. I didn't see the deal as expired so I decided to check one final store.

The last store I went to had me go to customer service to do the trade in. The rep there said my s21 was only worth $200. So I mention this promotion to them, but they didn't know what it was and walked me over to another phone rep by their mobile area. This rep knew what she was doing and knew about the promo right away. I did the deal with her easily, but she said I couldn't stack the activation bonus. At this point, I was just happy to get the deal to work and didn't want to take a chance with the s22+ sale ending on the 10th. Another thing was that she said she couldn't get the system to give me the remaining balance on a gift card for some reason and suggested that I get a case to not lose the balance. I needed a case anyway so went with an otterbox and paid a small difference.

Love this deal! wish I was able to get the t-mobile activation bonus but I am still happy with pretty much a free upgrade to a new and better phone.

Store near me don't have but available for pickup like 3 Day from now ... Can I still go to store and do this deal if the phone is not in stock
Yes but I suggest only do the deal for later pick up if it's in the near horizon like the 3 days you mention. If the BB system doesn't offer a date in the very near future (I'd say within 10 days) it becomes riskier and riskier that the system automatically cancels the entire transaction because your ordered phone is out of stock. This is also why it's risky to hand in the trade in without taking home your new phone... Take pics of the Samsung trade in coupon or get it from them and ask to keep the used gift card. Then once the phone arrives go back and hand in the trade in.

I've had trade in orders for other phones with trade in promos never arrive and BB system unwinds/reverses everything. I'm assuming that if you hand over your trade in once the BB employee drops it into their trade in collection lock box it's pretty much gone.

Did you activate after you picked up the phone (ship to store) or during the purchase / trade in?
Tell the BB employee you want to order your phone via the "activate now" option to get the carrier discount but to choose the "keep SIM" option (which I know is an available option at least for TMobile). Then there is no reason to actually activate the phone at pick up. If you don't have them choose the "keep SIM" option then when you go to pick up the phone it will have a new SIM card attached. Some BB employees will then feel it necessary to open the phone, install the attached new SIM, and activate the SIM under some BS policy they make up to prevent you from walking out with an unopened phone.

Anyone with S21 or Plus, do not bother upgrading, it's a downgrade. Wait for S23.

Edit: People compare S21/S21+ and S22/S22+ to see what I mean. They downgraded some features as such I made that comment based on that for those who will have it for regular usage but if for upgrade than by all means.
True statement based on some key specs but future trade value is likely better for the s22 short term. Long term the s22 benefits more updates and security patches. Time waits for no man

You need to unlock your s21 first of course. If you still owe, you'll have to pay it off first.
No need to unlock and no need to pay it off for trade-in as long as you keep that att line open and continue the payments on it (if any) you'll be fine. I did it.

does google backup save your app data and its messages? And text messages?
Text messages yea, app data no. It just re-install all your app, but you have to individually log into them all again. Also you have to download any pic you want one at a time from Google Photo, no option to select a batch for download. Just left a bunch of the cloud. It's just the same as doing a hard wire or wifi transfer with two phone, expect you don't get the pics, almost passed on this deal just to not have to deal with this hassle, but too good to pass up.

With activate now option. Can I then call the carrier and get it unlocked right away?
How long is the device locked in? Any ideas?
Thanks.
For this promo, regardless if you're doing "Activate now or later", the phone you are buying needs to be the unlocked version for the samsung promo to work. You can use it on whatever carrier you want after you purchase the phone by simply popping in your existing simcard.

They all lied, NYC BBY's have been on to this promo since the beginning. They are hoarding the phones for themselves and are coming up with excuses to not do the deal. Managers are in on it as well.

The s21's must have Gold inside them that could be harvested back. First Google doing the high trade in values, and now BB.

I did go into the store to give it a shot, I did reach out to a mobile specialist, she started by saying per the rules she will not be but she still wanted to try a few things. She tried various options for about 5 minutes while sharing her screen with me but every time the system was blocking her from going ahead. She gave up after a few tries and said hey you still got your phone for free :-)
Yes 50$ cash back would have been nice but I'm not complaining!
