I got the S22+ today, rep was having a lot of problems and didn't know about the T-Mobile activation promo. Store manager was nice but didn't see anything in the system and claimed promos don't usually work like that. I had already waited about 45 mins so I decided a free phone and ~$41 gift card was good enough for me. Very slick deal.

edit: it seems like from reading other comments that if I didn't mention the promo I would have just got it if I asked them to activate after the purchase. I didn't realize that this morning.

Thank you to OP and everyone else who has helped to make this deal possible! I was able to do this successfully today and finally upgraded from my phone that I was using for 6.5 years. As few others have mentioned, the "enhanced" in store trade-in deal does indeed last until 12/11/2022. I took a photo of the generated coupon during the transaction for the $800 value trade in, and it says on the top:

"Offer valid 10/4/2022-12/11/2022. SINGLE USE. In Store only."

Not sure if the deal has ever been pulled from the intended date, but it is indeed good until 12/11/2022.

Wait until black firday pricing comes back and you'll only need one phone. Last week S22U's were $899 ($1099 for 512GB) and that will almost certainly come back for black friday.
What makes you think it will come back for BF?

Yes, you can either have it shipped to your store for pick up or have it delivered to your home. Make sure to do the trade before the BF deal discount ends within the next couple days.

Not after purchase, but purchase the unlocked phone with T-Moile activation.

Here is my experience with doing this deal in NYC. The first store closest to my home that I went to yesterday, said their trade in system was down and told me to come back tomorrow. So I went back the next day, and it was still down. Went to another store a mile away, the people there said they didn't take Samsung s21 anymore due to how many people was trading them in and even showed their screen to me. They said that this is true for other store as well. I was thinking hmm maybe I am too late to the deal but decided to check back to this thread and didn't see anyone mentioning this problem. I didn't see the deal as expired so I decided to check one final store.

The last store I went to had me go to customer service to do the trade in. The rep there said my s21 was only worth $200. So I mention this promotion to them, but they didn't know what it was and walked me over to another phone rep by their mobile area. This rep knew what she was doing and knew about the promo right away. I did the deal with her easily, but she said I couldn't stack the activation bonus. At this point, I was just happy to get the deal to work and didn't want to take a chance with the s22+ sale ending on the 10th. Another thing was that she said she couldn't get the system to give me the remaining balance on a gift card for some reason and suggested that I get a case to not lose the balance. I needed a case anyway so went with an otterbox and paid a small difference.

Love this deal! wish I was able to get the t-mobile activation bonus but I am still happy with pretty much a free upgrade to a new and better phone.
Below is my reply in the other thread, to someone else who had a similar experience in multiple NYC locations. I returned the accessories they pushed:

I figured Union Sq. was one of them. I tried weeks ago before all the extra activate now discount from carrier, no double dipping, and they gave me the run around.

I wanted to trade in my S21 and purhcase of activate later S22 base, none of the 3 reps wanted to help me. Samsung rep at the Samsung kiosk says yeah, it'll work but I needed to speak to a best buy mobile rep to get it done since its a bestbuy purchase. BB mobile rep 1 asked what I wanted to do, I tell him and he immediately points to rep B, walking by "oh, trade in for unlocked with no plan? She will help you". Rep B then goes "nah, rep C will help you", didnt stop to see or ask what I was trying to do. Rep C listens to what I wanted to do and says "let me see if we have it". Opens the locked cage and peeks and immediately says "we don't have it" so quick as if he is lying and trying to dismiss me. I had checked online to see if it was in stock before I went, it was in stock. Fine, I'll take it as a system error. I asked if he can do the trade and order it for me and he says "no, you need to trade it online then".... I know he can do the trade in person and order the phone for me, for pick up or shipped directly to me. What am I gonna do, argue with them and make them?

Saved time and aggravation and went to Soho and got it done: trade and ordered for pick up, but even then they tried to do some sly stuff saying they're giving me a battery pack and a prepaid sim for and insisted its "free". At that point, I already knew what they're trying to pull and I've wasted enough time and didnt want to straight up call them out for what theyre trying to do; I let them ring everything up. They charged me for the extra products they said were free, they even purchased insurance on the battery pack without telling me to run up my bill. Walked to another BB and returned the extra stuff and insurance and picked up my phone a few days later. Still got what I wanted for what I was supposed to pay but it was work.

Then my wife tried to do it at the same store that worked for me, Soho, even knowing they might lie and sneakily make her purchase extra stuff, was willing to go through that and just return the extras later. They told her she can't trade in her S21 because it was unlocked which is BS. She walked to Chelsea and traded it with no issue, no run around, and no lies to run up the bill.

It's not only incompetence, some employees just don't want to work and are just there for the hours. Some will lie and sell you stuff saying it's free. It's NY, they think everyone walking in is a tourist and they can give you the run around or scam you and think they'll never see you again.

Don't ask the reps for $250 off instead when the rep is completing the trade in let him know you would like to activate the phone on TMobile.. provide your primary phone line number and SSN so they can login to the account and upgrade .. the 250 coupon gets added automatically
Is there any particular time while the rep is working with the trade in where you then ask?

If you ask after everything is done for instance and you have the phone purchased with the 50 dollar gift card assuming 128 GB version and trade in with an s21, is it too late to ask for an activation on t mobile to get the 250 dollars? Does it need to be asked prior to some final transaction of some sort?

I just got an S22+ 256 GB for pickup on 11/18 with T-Mobile activation (upgrade) and an S21 trade in. The total was 549.99 Wich was covered by the 600 coupon. Asked the guy to add accessories but he said it was just for the phone. Edit: I also walked out with the $200 gift card.

Oh, so you can do the whole thing with even a gift card of 200 dollars when ordering in person but having it delivered to store for another day?

Can you tell me exactly what you asked for?
I am getting my s21 from amazon today. I am guessing I will ask for a s22+ with trade in from s21, and that I want it to be with t mobile activation, and is there anything else I need to ask to walk out with that extra 200?

I told them I wanted an Unlocked S22+ with a trade in and T-Mobile upgrade. I guess I was lucky the rep was very knowledgeable. I just made sure to tell him what I was expecting...the $200 gift card for the trade in, the $600 coupon and the $250 promo code for the activation. I went for the 256 GB to take almost full advantage of the T-Mobile promo code.

The $200 gift card is loaded when you do the trade in, it's just not used.

Does it work with AT&T?

And can you unlock the phone right away if you activate it for T-Mobile?
