i was going to order a device to trade in but wont get here until monday..
and the s8 active i have laying around is 200 but i dont know about paying 600 for 200 ..

I don't think it gets any more clear than this.
So it's not activating new line nor upgrading existing line.
Here are the steps as I remember:
- BB rep has to do trade in FIRST.
- Since I bring S20+ 5G 128GB, the system generated $400 coupon & $200 gc
- BB rep ask my permission to access my Tmobile account from their computer.
- I punch in my last digit 4 ssn to their system.
- Then once they're in, they ask me which line that wants the Phone upgrade.
- They choose my line then click it
- It shows the list of phones sold by BB including this $750 S22+ 128 GB or $800 S22+ 256 GB
- I chose S22+ 5G 256GB Unlocked
- Once added to cart, price automatically drop from $800 to $550 because of Tmbl $250 discount
- Then BB rep applied $400 coupon first
- Lastly he applied $200 gc.
- I'm not sure starting from where their system calculated the tax but for sure somewhere in between after one of the discount. Because the rep initially showed in the screen that I'll probably pay tax somewhere around $6 and not getting any back but in the end, I paid no tax and even bring home $34.64 BB gc.
Btw, the BB rep who helped me was very nice. But the one who told us about Tmbile bonus was another rep next to him. But overall, all the rep of that BB stores in Montebello, CA are very nice people. They even stayed pass store closing time just to finish mine and with a smile in the end. Hats off to them.
