How were they able to pre-activate your phone without the physical phone? The store I went to said they needed the phone to activate a new line.

Just as there are people abusing this deal by buying phones to resell by trading in a bunch of phones there are sneaky best buy reps who are lazy, make up rules as they see fit, act like they don't know about the promo and intentionally misdirect customers .. it all evens out ..all in all no apathy for the abusing customers or the sneaky best buy reps.. end of rant

It is not plan dependent but Best buy should have access to upgrade your account and that the line should be upgrade eligible.

I just tried to trade in s21 for s22 ultra 128gb with a new TMo account, but in the end Best buy guys said the $300 TMo discount already includes the $200 discount from BB. So in the end I had to pay $100 instead of getting a $100 GC. So I backed out of the whole tx. I was told TMo account would automatically get cancelled since I didn't close the tx. What a waste of time and an unnecessary credit check. The BB guy was definitely inexperienced and had to call supervisor for everything. I wish I did this yesterday.

So did they ring it up and activated it on Tmo to see discount at the end or you canceled the transaction before it was completed? So at the lender when you were about to swipe your credit card what was the total after they scanned the GC? Or you did not get to that step at all?

So it looks like the new line activation discount is only $100 this week, as it was the week before the last one when I paid $899 for the S22U and got $100 off to activate on TMobile. Hopefully they bring back the hidden $250-350 discount for BF week.

There should be 2 separate line items. Did the $300 show up as $200+$100?

Yes, and they said the $200 was the same $200 that BB already has on the phone. Essentially TMo offering just $100 more off.

Tried to do the T-mobile promotion with the same Rep who helped me on Friday and it did not apply the $250 promo. I tried activating/upgrading device on the same number so YMMV.

This was done today, 11/14.
