It was $200 in any color earlier this year too. I saw this earlier today and held off thinking it will be lower in any color about the Monday before BF. That seems to be the sale is for the last few years. You're making me think again about not buying it now. It's a very detailed description on the differences.

I'd normally hold out this close to BF, but figured it was kind of odd that just this 1 color was heavily discounted from the brand new model. Not opening it until holiday season is over anyways, just in case a significantly better price comes up. Plus this is probably one of the color's I'd choose anyways, between what they show on Walmart's site.

And again, this year's price increases on everything overall makes me question if they will continue their $200 trend from previous years. They could still choose to discount the previous model online to $200, but price this new model slightly higher.

How does this compare to the Costco one? The Costco one let's them sit rear facing (which is safer)until 50lbs, this one only 40lbs. What else is the difference?

I got this for about $180 from BuyBuy Baby earlier this year with their 20% coupon. You can do better on this one.

From parent of 3 ranging in ages from 2 to 8, I have done a ton of research on this. The biggest safety factor that most in the us do not adhere to is keeping the child rear facing for as long as possible. The only car seat I found that allows feet and legs to be able allow the child at least some comfort between 40 and 50 pounds is the extend2fit car seats. Only a select few car seats allow rear facing till 50 pounds, but it will mostly likely save a child's life in a serious accident if they are rear facing vs forward facing. The child might be a little uncomfortable and really want to face forward as they get older, but parents who really care will keep them rear facing as long as possible. I forget what it is called but about 2 years ago Graco put some extra side protection in only 1 or 2 models and only certain colors. That might be worth looking into.

Thanks! Here it is on Amazon as well if you'd prefer them over Walmart like me:

That is great that you care about your children so much. No sarcasm there. To put this into perspective for those with younger kids, in my experience that puts your kid about 5 to 7 years old, maybe 45-47" or so. That can vary obviously, but I can't imagine waiting until then to flip them around.

The Costco one has an extension to allow the child to sit more comfortably in the rear facing mode.

This one has the snug lock mechanism which allows a much easier installation process and is important if you need to remove the seat constantly.

Which one is better depends on your use case.
