Really nice laptop. I bought the i7/16gb/512gb from Samsung.com for $463 (traded old iPad $225) on 9/2/2021.
Only things that I saw people whine about, was that you can't upgrade the ram and no thunderbolt. They make you buy the Galaxy Book for that.
These laptops are nice and very thin. All the bells and whistles, but these are over a year old and should be cheaper. Yes. It looks like a good discount, but it was over priced in the first place.
Just got a Galaxy Book Pro i7 16gb 1Tb. These are super thin, VERY fragile. Poor heat dissipation. Very hot. unpredictable fan kicking in. Make sure you know what you are getting into. This is not a power user kind of device. This is a short stint use and turn off item. Extended use will see it nearly melting down. The 13" sizes are notorious for extreme heat and breakdowns. All of these various models are extremely fragile and for specific users and scenarios. Research what you are getting into if you are not sure in advance. My laptop gets minor artifacting / video glitches when it heats up and stays that way for some time. It does not exude longevity. A coffee shop queen or light quick office use would be ideal. I cant imagine it lasting for the long haul. Virtually impossible with the wear and tear that constant heating cycles will have on the internals. One positive is its easy to open to add another M2 drive. Not sure if the 13" models are the same. Like already mentioned the 8gb is soldered in and you are stuck with it. Solid display, dark pitch blacks from OLED display.
Likely too loud for a classroom environment. I would never for a second consider this for a kid or teen. They would destroy it in short order. People have their screens fail for not being super careful opening it carefully from the very center. Everything flexes. Thin magnesium shell. Plastic everywhere. Great keyboards. Mediocre touchpads.

Bought mine yesterday. Great keyboard, Great screen. Used it for 7 hours straight, no overheating issues. Touch screen is nice. Plenty fast for what I need it for. Seems well built and not fragile at all.
Its possible the i5 version is slightly better on heat performance but that is not my experience in the Galaxy device forums on Reddit. I know people that have problems are more likely to post but the stories are not what you want to hear.
Very quick failures from new. Extremely poor customer service from Samsung. 6 month repair horror stories without total resolution. I do use my Book Pro for long periods, its working but twice it had yellow lines at the top of the browser window that required restart to remedy on a laptop just days old. I just want to stress to everyone to research this particular device in feedback and forums. It could be the right device for you, just make sure before committing and pulling the trigger.
I just moved on from an Acer 7th Gen. i5 that was thin and aluminum, that laptop was bulletproof especially compared to the type of build this ultralight type of machine has. It would certainly be nice for travelling light and it weighs nothing and I am on the 15" Book Pro. This unit must be simply amazing for portability but it comes at a severe price. Its like having 1.5 tablets sandwiched together. The screen flex is EXTREME and I have seen untold stories of it failing simply because of how people opened it on the upper right corner regularly. Maybe the 13" smaller footprint is a tad more robust because of the smaller frame. There is no question 13" unit suffer from worse heat issues from the smaller form factor. After having buyers remorse from a hasty buy on an ebay offer I did not expect the seller to accept for a new sealed unit I feel obligated to at least get someone thinking hard before committing. I would never buy this again but I can admit the AMOLED screen is very nice for video. Not so hot for crisp text, its okay.
Good luck!

You have a book pro, this is the flex alpha. They are 2 completely different laptops. this is not nearly as thin as yours.

Completely agree. When Samsung was clearing these out, they were going for around $350.

sure those weren't the 1st gen Flex? these were $550 in March?
1st Gen was clearance for sure but I think second Gen were also heavily discounted as well. Point is for Samsung laptop wait until they are clearance sale from Samsung, not best buy. For example book pro 360 went down to 350.

No USB-C chargiing is bad.
Soldered non-upgradable 8GB RAM is very bad.
